zac's mum:Tonight’s numbers will include all online registrations made before 4.30pm cut-off time. Somebody got this answer from MOE in previous years.
:thankyou: that's very useful info!Hi, do you know when the registered numbers are reflected online tonight, does it accurately include the in-person PLUS online registration numbers? Cos I dont understand why MOE was unable to update last night when it's the 1st day for online registration yesterday.vivi_vivi:
today is the 1st day of registration in person. at the end of today, MOE will upload figures.
schools which are only left with 20 or 30 at the end of 2B will face balloting for sure.
Thanks!

My choice would be (1) if the confirmed space is my 2nd or 3rd choice.Parents, what are your thoughts on this?
1) Would you go for a confirmed space in 2c(1-2km) and then put on waitlist for your first choice school? Or
2) go for ballot in your first choice school(1-2km) and risk balloting out, then go for what’s left at 2c(s)?
Is it all left to probability of the ballot?
Balloting is always a no-no for me if 3 to 4 kids are vying or one seat in that school.
Good luck! -

i'm not sure myself. someone mentioned MOE will update at the end of today...so I presume the numbers will be totalled up (ie including yesterday's online registration). it would be more advisable to know what is available at the end of today since most parents would prefer to register in person.vivi_vivi:

I think both also likely to ballot within 1km. Hv an alternative.Jnhh:
Maris Stella 1-2km (42 vacancies for 2C)
Yangzheng 1-2km (31 vacancies for 2C)
Which is a safer bet? Thanks very much.
Yep, agree cos I'm also considering Maris 1-2KM, but seems like will ballot within 1km even. Explains my previous posts of searching for alternatives to have higher chances of securing a place within Phase 2C. :xedfingers:
Historically Yangzheng should be safe for 1-2km but number of places much lesser this year as well.
Suggest calling up the 2 schools to check so you can better weigh your chances before final decision made.
Good luck! -

Your combi is like 3 Christian and 1 Buddhist school. Religious preference? But guessing u r staying at MacPherson private estate or Joo Seng due to proximity for the 3 schools except Mee Toh? I stay at Macpherson HDB side, but have already secured place at Maha Bodhi in phase 2B.vivi_vivi:
Maris Stella 1-2km
St Andrews junior >2km
Geylang methodist >2km
Mee toh >2km
Maris Stella is my first choice but am worried balloting will omit 1-2km entirely due to the little number of vacancies left for Phase 2C this year.
Pls advise on chances. And what is the next best second choice.
Thanks!
Am going to be blunt and say u r realistically selling yourself short as all the choices except for Geylang Methodist are hot schools and should not have vacancies left to be a second choice if Maris Stella fails.
Since u r even considering Geylang Methodist, why don't u consider Canossa as backup plan since it opens up to boys next year? Cedar Primary maybe if close by? I stay very near a student Care centre with huge population of Geylang Methodist kids and am not impressed to be frank. My son's classmate's parents are sending their girl to Canossa despite their elder boy in Geylang Methodist. Was leaning towards Canossa as backup over Geylang Methodist myself if I did not strike my MBS jackpot tbf.
Good luck.
Thanks for advice! Will take a look at Canossa as I've heard good reviews about their teachers from some friends as well
No religious preference for me and decided on the alternative choices as my mom is able to send my boy to these schools due to proximity or convenience of direct bus. -
