Any feedback on Teacher Joanne at AMK? Btw, need referral for AMK please! Thanks!

Hoping to hear some feedbacks too.. Teacher joanne will be taking my DD for her p2 class next yr..

My kid went for make up lessons twice under teacher joanne. I find she can interest my child and he is not bored. She is also rather clear in explaining to me about my kid's learning. I may not be able to really give you a full picture as he is not in her regular class but she seems not bad.

I went for the workshop held for TAS parents too. It is like what hquek says - it is a scary world out there. English, especially the demands at PSLE level, is quite tough.

I must jia you more with my kids. As to your query about TAS workshops, I went for 2- creative writing and this recent one that covers Paper 1 and 2. I found both very good. I learnt a lot about the techniques used to tackle the different parts of English. And I also started my own star system at home like TAS told us and now my kids work for the stars to exchange for privileges like computer time etc. I find it effective. I have gone for other workshops before and I find that those done by TAS have much more substance. They cover a lot in the time and the delivery is very clear so you can understand although so much is covered.

May I know if TAS is going to sell these books only to their own students or will it be available to outsiders? :D[/quote

They do sell their books to public. U
Must call n check for payment n collection point

I heard that for these books, its only for TAS students as its like a
grammar and synthesis textbook for TAS usage only.

Have you heard when these books will be ready?

      Hi TAS,

Do you recommend your creative writing book for a primary 3 kid who has no interest in reading or writing? Would he be able to pick up the techniques? I want to send my child to your centre but it is a bit far for me. So I am hoping the book can at least help to improve his marks from 12 to about 14 or 15 marks over 20.
      Hi seashells,

Personally I find the book very useful. Of course, you would need to sit down and go through the phrases and techniques with your child. Even if your child is a reluctant reader or writer, if you sit down with your child and get him to learn the techniques, he can still benefit as there are also mnemonics to help your child to remember which I found very good.

      cherrygal:

Mild steroids like hydrocortisone can be bought easily from the pharmacies. Just ask the pharmacist for 0.5% hydrocortisone. Some only sell 1% as the minimum strength. Both are mild.

For stronger steroids like Betamethasone or Dhasalone, you need to get from GP or dermatologists. Steroidal creams are not meant for long-term use. It is used to bring down the inflammation.

I also don't use normal moisturizers like Cetaphil coz they are useless for serious eczema skin conditions. I use Egoderm cream as a maintenance moisturizer. It is medicated but non-steroidal.
      Hi cherrygal,

Thank you, may try the mild ones first. At least now, I have lots more information on this and can go about trying the different remedies.
