DS2 has started with his Math & Science tuition classes.. DS2's strongest subject is Math, followed by Science, but I am not taking any chances this year..

DS2 enjoys the 'extra' lessons coz many of his friends are there too (a centre set up by ex-HODs of his Pri Sch).. DS2 says go tuition can meet girls too.. 😆

Still sourcing for Eng & CL tutors for DS2.. Searching searching... 😓

Hi Firefly38, May I have the name of your DS' Tuition center name ?

For CL, Busybee is a good choice, my DD went there a month ago, she likes it. More importan, really got improvement in this short period.

I am searching a good Eng too.

Hi Firefly38, I'm searching doe science tutor. May I also have the name of the tuition centre.

      TIA

Like many other parents, my son and I went through the appeal process last 2 weeks. A lot of frustration and disappointment . Son is 2 points below his 2nd choice appeal school and we were told that they have been offering places to applicant at 2 points below their cut-off but they do not want to consider my son at all , as we place their school as 2nd choice. They don't even want to look at all the achievement which include 1st placing in International competition, leadership in fund raising , school head prefect and several other national competition.

I don't think the school knows whether we put them as 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice, etc :? Did they ask you which choice you put their school at?

Yes, the school that we appealed for asked for a copy of the S1 Application form. I think it's rather ridiculous for schools to just base their decision on the notion of a 'first choice' over all other more relevant aspects of the student, ignoring much more important things such as leadership achievements and character building which our government is emphasizing on.

    • RE: All About A Levels

Hi, my niece got 9 points (as stated below )and her nett score is 5.

A2 for English, A1 for E-maths, A2 for A-Maths, A1 for CHinese, A1 for higher chinese, A1 for Chemistry, A2 for Physics, A2 for Biology, A2 for Combine Humance (Elect Geog).

She would like to go to NJC-Science but she’s worried abour the cut-off point as she thinks that the general score is high for this year. She also prefer to go to school of the west side.

Will the cut-off point varies from last year ? Please advise ?

      Many thanks.
