Would like to hear views on the JTP and how it compares to the GEP in other schools.

RE: St Joseph's Institution Junior
During orientation for the new P1 students, the people providing the optional CCAs/enrichment courses will be there for you to find out more and sign up. Unless it has changed, I think there would be soccer, badminton and chess. Anyway, that info should all come when they inform of the orientation.

Maybe call the school then. Round 2 is just one week away only.

RE: St Margaret's Primary
I don’t know about SMPS directly, but from another school, letters were given out last week to students who have been selected to go for the next round selection test.
So I think likely that the girls going for the next round have already been informed. Have you asked your daughter whether she’s aware of the teacher giving out letters to some classmates? Or whether her friends in other classes know of it? -

1) Yes, they have optional CCA.May I check...
1) Does P1 has optional CCA?
2) Usually what are the days for CCA (even for higher pri levels)
Thanks
2) Depends. For the P1, P2 optional CCA, it'll be after school and I think the days can vary. For P3, it is within their school hours. I don't know about higher up, but assume it could be like in P3. -

ds is in P2, may I know at P3 level, which class is the 'best' class?
I believe these classes change from year to year. So you'll have to wait till your boy enters P3 next year before you'll be able to find out. -
RE: St Joseph's Institution Junior
Allocation to class was by date of birth. However, I do vaguely remember a mini exercise in the classroom during orientation (dunno whether they still do it though). My guess is that the mini exercise might have been just to spot anyone who needed extra help at the start of school, eg those who didn’t go to kindergarten? You can always call the school to check.

I would expect that the boys would have some parent or guardian picking them up after training. If you take about half an hour to get home, there's still time to wash up, change, eat lunch and catch the school bus. Then cannot take sch bus on these days?? :?
What do they do after 10am after the soccer? Do they wait in the canteen?
Alternatively, just wash up and change in school, and bring him across the road to United Square or Velocity/Novena to eat. Then, plenty of time before school starts to walk back again. -

8 to 10am. The boys are split into either the Wed or Fri session.

happy to be mum:
wondering can we let them wear their own clothing for the soccer since it is conducted by external vendors, at least not white T-shirts!
Yes
