No la. I recall P4 seemed more hectic but P5 quite relaxed. There are projects that need be done and homework from time to time. But during hols, DS1 can watch tv, play games, etc...I don't see him having much homework. Teachers ain't complaining so I guess all is good?

Oh really! Glad to hear that. :xedfingers:

In the past Mar, Jun and coming Sep school holidays, the P4 GEP students in DD's school have been given lots of homework & assignments. In fact for short 1 week school holidays, there's no real break. Does anyone know if it's going to be like this too for the year-end Nov-Dec holidays?

Hi wcc, Yes, there is no break.

:yikes: No break even for year end??!! :faint:

    • RE: GEP Assessment Books

      Hi,

Anyone has any recommendations on assessment books for English?

So it’s recommended guide. Not exactly a requisite?
No worries wcc. As long as they do fine for daily work, teachers will still "pass" them and give overall 70%.
Oh I see. Thanks.

      Hi,

In GEP, they always talk about the baseline of 70%.
So, is passing marks at 70%?
If for any subject, we could not get 70%, what's going to happen? Anyone can advise?

      From NYPS website
Pupils are monitored with formal Academic assessments and are required to perform to a minimum Baseline expectation of 70% for every subject. This is to ensure that the GEP is value-adding to pupils’ academic development. The Baseline is a recommended guide for the reasonable performance of pupils belonging to the GEP set by the GEB.
So it's recommended guide. Not exactly a requisite?

    • RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion

      Hi,

      Can someone advise:
      - How many projects are there for P4 in a year?
      - What projects are they?

      Thanks.

I think it may be known differently in different school. Is it sometimes called the maths olympiad?

I was looking at the Science topics for this year. Looks like they are doing diversity, materials (those covered in P3 last year) again. Does anyone know why? Then how about those not covered in P3 in some school (e.g. magnets, digestive systems)?
