:heresmyfish:
Is there such subject combination as AEP student with CLEP? Both are elective programs. Do they clash? Both should b pretty rigourous right, like taken at H2 level?

In my opinion, this is not possible as both will be \"upgraded\" to h3 in j2. In addition, the activities conducted for these two elective programmes may clash (e.g. overseas trip). In addition, the timetable will not be possible as both programme's lessons also start around late afternoon. Considering the rigour of both programmes, only one should be chosen.

noted that the timetable may clash..

If im hearing u correctly, h3 is the most rigourous?

coz i have friends who are saying that h1, h2, h3 is not the level of difficulty but the type of subjects...im confused. can u pls enlighten?i don't remember such bandings in my time...

elective subject timetable only start late afternoon? then the core is in the earlier part of the day?
Sorry for the late reply, I don't login often 😐 I would say that H1 is the easiest while H3 is the hardest. For example, I take H1 math and that is very much easier than H2 math. H1 math is rather similar (not entirely) to A math in secondary school whereas H2 math is really hard. Taking a H1 subject also means you have less lessons a week. H3 is much more challenging and only a select number of students can take it (Most H3 are only decided when you have entered the school but for CLEP is choose before you even enter, I'm not that sure for AEP). I think how late you end depends on how weird your subject combination is. For example, many people take PCME so that means that your timetable will most likely end earlier. However, for me I take BCMCll so my lessons end latest 5.30pm. However, if you take H3 subjects, lessons may end at 6++ if I'm not wrong. Additionally some H3 subjects are conducted externally so students may have to travel elsewhere. Hope this helps to clear some of your doubts ^^

Hi all,

would like to know if any of your girls were from a neighbourhood school and got into CHIJ St Nicholas, did they feel left-out or feel ostracized since most of the girls were from the St Nicholas Primary School? It will only be a small handful of girls that are not from St Nicholas Primary.
At the age of 13, it's the beginning of the peak for puberty, as such, girls are more sensitive.
would really appreciate your comments here. šŸ˜‰ Many Thanks!
Don't need to worry, I am personally from a neighbourhood school in woodlands but there is no sense of ostracising ^^ usually people may ask about school just to get to know each other better. I'm sure your dd will face no problems šŸ™‚ I have had friends who were in classes with more students from st nicks primary and they were also able to fit in so can ę”¾åæƒ

DD will be joining the IP programme.

For those taking public transport, do they alight at AMK or YCK mrt? What buses do they take from there?
Hii šŸ™‚ From AMK Mrt, I used to take 265. From YCK Mrt, for the bus interchange right outside the Mrt, you can take 76. From the bus stop further down you can take 265 or 268. However both 76 and 268 will be some distance away from the school. The pro is that you enter from the canteen level, so can climb less stairs ^^

Now tat stnic has IP are they oso pushg some of the IP Topics n curriculum to O lvl path kids esp eng n math?

Hi šŸ™‚ Maths and english topic in St Nicks are generally the same. However for science, IP learn much more literally more informative and can have higher thinking order however the best teachers will teach extra to the O level stream sometimes.

I hope sngs can consider CCA not just for competitive purposes but to give the girls a holistic and enriching CCA experience. I understand common questions asked at auditions relate to whether one has the experience or even competitive experience and this applies to sports, clubs and societies as well. I hope the school leaders can do something instead of just following what others schools are doing.

Hi cca is actually very fun, you get to hang out with your friends, of course it is important to get good results for competitions which is expected. CCA is not just going for competitions, you get to learn new skills, and have more friends. There are also learning journeys sometimes... šŸ˜„

So in stnics cant go grp tuitn for math n sci right?

We have remedial sessions, even if your child is not selected for remedial, she can go, the teacher doesn't mind, you just have to tell them beforehand.

Hi,

Any parents know what did last year Sec 2 (Express stream) students do for their HI (Historical Investigation) and GI (Geographical Investigation) ?

TIA
The G.I. includes a topic about \"Inclusive Housing\" this year
H.I. is a memory box about significant people or events in Singapore, may have other upcoming projects but not sure. šŸ˜‰
Anyway there are tons of projects in St Nicks compared to other top schools, its a belief of introducing us to project work for jc.

Hi! Would like to clarify the following:-

1) Does SNG girls default take HCL, regardless they are on \"O\" Level Track or IP Track?

2) Is the IP Track a replacement of the SAP stream SNG used to have?

3) Can SNG girls on IP Track choose whether they want to do ę™®åŽ (\"O\" Level Express Stream Chinese) or HCL?
1) No, your child has to get a certain grade before she can get into HCL but if she can get into St Nicks her subject scores shouldn't be too bad šŸ˜„
2) I'm unsure about this
3) I'm not sure but HCL is not that hard generally and I'm sure your child can make it. I think it is compulsory but not sure. šŸ˜‰

Would like to seek advice from St Nicks parents.

How are Sec 1 classes typically being allocated? Will there be a mixture of affiliated and non-affiliated girls in the same class? Or is it purely by PSLE scores?

:thankyou:
They are allocated by psle grades not affiliation so if your child gets lower chances are she would be in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th class (depends on how much people scored that year) or if she is one of the best entering she would get into the first class of course. šŸ˜„
