i know DHS band has shortlisted their candidates and trial this week. CO i'm not sure.

Any parents kindly share experiences on the 3rd language for sec1 at DHS？ DS confirmed DSA into DHS via music, and we are considering whether to choose 3rd language (German or French), however worried if too much stress with CCA, academic … appreciate some insights! TIA…

VS IP is band with no MEP but I heard could apply for MEP outside school. We did not put too much hope on RI at the beginning but more for having a try. We will let DS make his choice after PSLE on taking DSA or go with PSLE. but DH and I quite prefer east side and we felt VS maybe the suitable choice for DS to have a more relaxed 6 years as less competitive in academic so he could spend more time on music. We will let DS decide but we felt his PLSE may not be good enough for branded school like RI, where he may felt more pressured in studies. We drive around VS all the time so quite comfortable with the area, and many friends from VS, so logistics wise, it’s our most preferred. We will only make suggestions and let DS to make the final call. We also applied DHS MEP as its also at the east, and with many friends there, and we see if DHS is positive or not. However DS is not very good with Chinese, and he felt DHS is some how more Chinese language focused, so it may require more consideration if accepted. We ask him to focus on PSLE now as he already has DSA as an option and should feel relieved and confident with the exams.

Thanks Cool nurse! Congratulations to your DD, she is apparently very good in academics, so either DSA or not, she would get to her choice of school. Jia You for the final 4 weeks.

Yes we are happy with VS as we live at east and it’s one of our top 2 choices in the area. DS is high A average so I think it’s already good to get IP CO, though he is into this MEP thing with his music friends together. We probably will arrange separate MEP or music class for him if he really hope to take music seriously.

DS also received CO for VS band today in the afternoon, and there is a welcome briefing next Monday via zoom. First CO so DS quite happy and more motivated on study now as have some confidence and security at least.
