RE: Catholic High School
mummy so kiasu:
My boy is in the top 10% of the PSLE cohort. He can opt for higher Chinese & Cat 1-3, third language. However, he did not do HCL in primary school. We want to let him do HCL in Sec 1 next year but worry he is unable to cope with it.
Much will depend on your son. If it's his desire, he'll cope but it's a challenge so pls do not look at initial results. Mine was in a similar position not having taken HCL at pri level. Managed to pass overall at sec 1. Just encourage him n he'll be ok. The teachers are a committed bunch and will notify u if necessary cos there'll be constant assessment all year round. He's in good hands at CHS. -

Yea I'm quite sure retest scores count towards the actual score... but the final score can only reach a maximum of 50% (of the total marks)...
My bad. Thanks for clarifying. -

!!! After my Geography retest, my Geography marks stay the same! What the heck!? My dear teacher, surely you got it wrong!? :yikes:
Retest scores don't count. It's the main ones that gets recorded. Impt thing is to take it as a lesson learnt n move forward and bounce back. -

Chill it’s only past 2 months. Some will take more time to adjust than others. They’ll turn out fine eventually.

Performing Arts too seem v time consuming, anybody here has any idea if there wld b 3 practice sessions a wk thru out the yr, or only if there is a performance/competition?
That's something that I hope to get clarification for sports CCA as well. Maybe your son can ask the teacher in charge during the CCA exhibition this Wed or email the teacher in charge. But I did notice a small note at the end of second page where it says with the exception of sch reps CCAs will only take up 1-2 sessions per week. -

They have to select their CCA preferences by Thursday, is it??
Yes, Thursday is the deadline.
Anybody knows if the sports CCA curriculum goes all year through or it take a breather after the inter school games? All the sports CCA look heavy going.
