Hi Crazydad, I believe your DD must be taking HMT right ? Hope those taking normal chinese is not that tough . My DS’s chinese standard is only so-so and he dislike chinese composition alot .
As for TJC and VJC , for those who gone in under IP program after Sec 2 will study there for their Sec3 and 4 but will be under the through train program . So the question whether these JC have Sec3 and 4 classes is "yes" . Correct me if i’m worng .

RE: Anglican High School
Is this true ? Never heard from my son but I doubt so . Would there be rooms to accommodate all of them ? Btw , I wonder who actually stays in the hostel in AHS ? Do they have so many foreign students there ? All sec 1 students are supposed to slect their CCA soon . My son will be going for the badminton trial and hope to be selected . Heard Chinese Drama is a niche CCA in AHS and all students actually went for the audition last week and will be informed of the result today, i think . Is this s a good CCA to consider ? Maybe any Anglican or parents of Anglican can advise …

RE: Anglican High School
So ur daughter did have her camp when she entered AHS in her ist year! Actually , my son started their lessons on the 3rd day of school, real fast . Today got Chinese spelling already ! Looking at this ,think AHS is quite academic inclined . For Sec 2 to go into IP , think is not easy …wonder how many student made it to IP after Sec 2 at AHS ?

RE: Anglican High School
Thanks MADJP for the info. Actually it is both my husband n my wish to have our son getting into IP school after Sec 2 . Just wonder what is the selection criteria in Sec 2 to get into IP schools ? Do they look at their Sec 2 results and i also heard they need to do some tests etc …My son just lamented today that the orientation is very short , just 2 days with activities only on 1 day . He heard from the seniors that previously they used to have camps for their orientation but now no longer happenings due to buget contrainst . this is real sad !

RE: Anglican High School
My son will be entering AHS as he was not successful for appeal to VS .
I noticed the threads for AHS is not as popular as VS . They are already in their pg 8! I would like to find out more on AHS. In Secondary 1 , are the students being allocated to their classes per their PSLE scores and if all students with HML grouped together in same class ? Are students from DSA entry through sports grouped separately in another class ?
I heard many sayings that AHS standard has dropped through these years . Is this true ? This year COP of 240pts was the lowest in their record ! -
RE: Victoria School
Hi MADJP , thanks for the little info on AHS .Really hope to learn and share more with you about the school but this is the VS threads so not too good to elaborate more . If not , many of the readers here will get bored
Probably we can talk more in AHS threads .... -
RE: Victoria School
This is very comforting- the free workout . At least i heard some good things about AHS vs VS
. But I tot the in take is almost the same for
all schools. 10 classes of 35 students ? Actually my main concerns is that the school is a SAP school which i think will focus more on languages .BTW ,my son doesn't take higher chinese . He is stronger in both his Maths and Science subjects and I tot VS will be able to bring out this potential in him .Besides , I have long heard about how VS has produced good and successful achievers and tot it is a waste that my son missed the entry . Btw , ur DD still in Anglican? I was there yesterday and felt the building was rather old and run down ... -
RE: Victoria School
So sad , my son appeal is not successfully . Heard there are <10 vacancy for appeal case . So he will be going to his ist choice school which is Anglican High. Really regret for not being more insisting and go against his will to place Victoria as the ist choice school during selection. With his score, he will for sure be allocated to VS as the cutoff this year is 245 .Now we understand how impt is the choices made during school selection. Probably my son is destined not to be part of the Victorian family . Will go Anglican high tomorrow to get his uniform and textbooks

RE: Victoria School
In fact , I am now waiting eagerly for the school to call up . I believe the results should be known by end of today to cater for all students to meet up tomorrow . I think if i don’t hear anything today, very likely the appeal is not sucessful . Will update u gals if my son got into VS !
