    • RE: Disneyland

Ya, I heard HK one is really small and probably 1 day should be able to accompanish all the rides.

So how many days did you spend in disneyland and which hotel did you stay? I plan to stay at disneyland for at least 2 or max 3 days. Then move to the central city.

On the whole, how many days did you spend there?

    • RE: Disneyland

i’m planning to bring my coming to 4yr old gal to tokyo DL. I am wondering why is the 1day ticket rate so much cheaper in HK compared to the one in tokyo?

I try to find out what is the height limit for each ride but it says check with the staff there and look at the sign. I like to find out exactly how many percent of rides she can ride before i commit for the tripe otherwise would be a waste of $$$ going al the way there…

She is about 100cm tall or more…

anyone who’s been there… please share your experiences. thanks

    • RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

Just managed to get hold of Molin. Their price for 12 lesson (1 term) is 224.70.

Any idea how much Tien Hsia is charging for Nursery level? as they are close for the CNY…

    • RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

      Thanks!

My gal is 3.5yr old and is already attending Nursery daily but I like her to go to a enrichment mandarin lesson once a week to build up her mandarin. Good thing she is pretty keen in mandarin but speaks very little due to lack off vocabs.

I am considering between Molin and Tien Hsia. Which one would be more suitable for this age.

I have gone to their website and they both have programme for this age. Anyone out there tried these center? Thanks for sharing.

    • RE: [Bedok/Katong/Marine Parade/Siglap] Preschools

I think there is nothing with that branch but I feel that perhaps it is not quite suitable for my gal. She is very active and it seems that her attention span since school till now hasn’t be great. I am not sure if I should look for a school that is slightly more academic base…

Teachers at Pat’s seems pretty ok to me and I don’t hear them saying singlish. So far, my gal hasn’t spoken any singlish. But that’s also as the parents we focus on speaking right from day one.

In the 1st place I considered Pat was because I heard they prepare the children quite well for P1. Also I notice the children there are all so lively and happy…

My friend checked out Brighton west branch and she said the curriculum seemed more advanced than the one her son is attending. Not sure which CC her son used to attend.

One thing I like about Pat’s is they tend to address to any issue rather quickly. That’s very good and assuring in a way…

Not sure if any parents complained about mossie next moment, I saw them hanging those blackhole, mossie electrical traps everywhere. Thats quite good.

Can I have some feedback on Brighton Montessori at fort road? Any folks out there who sent their children there?

Care to share how you feel about their curriculum?

At the moment, my gal is at Pat’s schoolhouse at Meyer branch and I seriously considering of changing her to another school…

      Thanks…

    • RE: How to self-teach your child to focus and pay attention?

My gal just turn 3 and according to her pre school teacher, I was recently told her attention span is rather short which as a mother, I know that too.

I have been trying to help her and am still trying to. What I have done, I am not sure if it’s good enough. I knew she likes pirate so I bought her a set of 48pieces of pirate jigsaw puzzle which is she able to complete it on her own. I sat near her but didn’t help except verbally guide her how to differential each piece and things to look out. More like technic.

Since she is so into pirate, I bought a pirate book with jigsaw puzzle on alternate pages and sticker book etc.

The teacher commented that when she is told to do colouring, she would do that but after a while she will wonder off. That’s something I do with her at home so I am not sure if that’s boredom.

I was told she likes music so I try to create a nice musical environment for her like turning on children but she would say NO turn off, too noisy. And yet once she ponder on my trance CD, she dance to it…

I am in fact very concern about her focusing and concentration. Is there anymore things that I can help her out? Any suggestions?

    • RE: Do you give nursery teachers christmas gifts?

I will prepare presents for christmas and teachers’ day celebration. I normally give to the form teachers, helpers that consistently helped out in the class and to the principal. And presents + goodies bags for all the children.

I will treat the children during childrens’ day and valentine’s day too…

This year I am giving out organiser to the teachers with a can of cookies. Something practical.
