      Good day!

will Nan Chiau high school accept students who did not take High Chinese Language exam during PSLE?

      NCHS score range: 5(D)-12
      Kid scored 9

Bing AI replies without HCL, NCHS rejects…

Congrats on the good result. With al9, and from those you listed, I guess you live in Pg/sk. I would definitely suggest you check out Anderson secondary (AL10) in amk which after an open house visit and read up, it's a good school to consider.
      Much appreciate!

Based on your school choices, I am assuming you live in Punggol or Sengkang. Why not cast your net wider and consider other even better schools, since your son has a very good score of AL9?

      Consider the following schools:
      1. Victoria School (offers chess as a CCA)
      2. Catholic High
      3. St Joseph's Institution
      4. Temasek JC
      Much appreciate!

      good day!

my kid got the PSLE total score of 9.
      Math 1
      Sci 2
      Eng 2
      Chi 4

we thinking to apply following options at the north east area:
      1. Nan Chiau High School
      2. Edgefield Sec School
      3. Yusof Ishak Secondary School

the kid likes to play chess… but actually spending most of his time on phone, seems no stress at all even before PSLE exams. sigh

      Qs:
what are the chances of getting into Nan Chiau?
any other suitable schools could recommend?

      thanks much

School \tMother Tongue \tTotal Vacancy \tPlaces Taken Up at \tVacancy for Phase 2B

      Chinese \tMalay \tTamil \tPhase 1 \tPhase 2A1 \tPhase 2A2
      Alexandra Primary School \tYes \tYes \tYes \t210 \t0 \t0 \t0 \t105

      very curious.
why a new school the take-up for phase 1, 2A1, 2A2 is zero, but the vacancy for 2B is half less???
      any1 can help?
      thanks in advance!

      Alexandra primary
      Total vacancies = 210

Is a new school, thus phase 1, 2a1, 2a2 all zero.

      After 2a2 :-
Remaining vacancies split & divided by 2. Half go to phase 2b, the other half go to phase 2c.

      Hence, 2b allocAted 105 seats, 2c another 105 seats.
Total add up to 210, ie. p1 will have 7 classes (30 pupils per class)

      appreciate your detailed answers!

If you want to prepare your child for Money - coins and dollars, Time, you can go Popular buy Newton Publication assessment books. Full colour assessment books for coins, dollars and time. These books more appealing to 6 years old and each book costs about $4.50. I like these 3 books as it helps the child to build up the concepts.[/quote]truly appreciate!

      where to buy 2nd-hand textbooks?

or better to purchase new ones?
what the recommended books to buy?

I have purchased new Chinese textbooks and also have 2nd hand ones.
I think better to buy new ones because the books are not too expensive. You can buy from Popular. I did not buy the Math textbooks. You should buy according to your child's needs first.

      thank you very much!
