If you don't mind her taking schoolbus, go for Haig girls. Much better than KC.
Haig girls = schoolbus + strong academics + art + leadership program + not so nice uniform
KC = walk 5min + gymnastics + classic uniform

Haig girls unlikely need to ballot <1km

\"Much better\" is subjective.
TBH I don't think there's a lot of difference between the two schools.
Though Haig Girls is pretty unique - one of only two government run single gender school, KC has the benefit of affiliation to KC.

I’ve attended both open houses or carnivals over the last 5 years. Stark difference even by talking to same age group of girls, p5.
Haig girls is more strict than KC, KC girls are more eloquent.
There’s no need to link kc to kc secondary, when I asked kc secondary girls, most were very disappointed to end up there after psle, the cut off point is so low for express.

Girls from Haig girls are definitely more studious, a little more nerdier than KC. Most make it to TKGS, cedar, tkss equivalent secondary. I don’t really like Haig girls location but a better quality education surpass inconvenience.

Haig girls offer ballet as after school enrichment from p1.

Judging by current registration results from today, it already says a lot.
Agree with you!

• RE: [Geylang] Primary Schools

Hi, I am rookie here.

We would like to seek your kindly advice:

We just received the parent volunteer program for both Geylang Methodist Primary and Haig Girls’ school. Which school is better overall? How about academic perspective?

Really many thanks for your help!

haha, that’s also my question, so I asked why the number “apply” exceed “taken” in 2B for many school in his table. Anyway, how is the chance to get in HGS in 2B?

If you are referring to KSP table, applied refers to the number of applicants relative to vacancy for that phase. Therefore, if the number shows less than 100%, it mean no balloting and there are some vacancies to roll over to the next phase. Take up rate refers to the overall take up at the end of the phase relative to total number of places.

Haig Girls have not balloted in Phase 2B for the last 10+ years.

Thank you floppy!

I went to the 2018 registration thread to check 2B for you. Definitely no balloting for Haig Girls in 2B. Not sure where his stats for applicants > seats taken came from. Human error?

I think the popularity of Haig Girls only shows up in 2C, where many PRs will apply. Or have they upped their game since then and started doing PV in large masses for 2B?? Perhaps you have some insights.

Easier if you just name the school that you are considering for P2B

Hi, I’m considering Haig Girls School. From the statistic for Phase 2C, it’s not that popular. So i’m wondering whether it needs ballot in 2B.

You lost me there.

If the statistic shows that it is not popular in Phase 2C, why would it to ballot at Phase 2B, an earlier phase? :scratchhead:
haha, that’s also my question, so I asked why the number “apply” exceed “taken” in 2B for many school in his table. Hi, I noticed that for Phase 2B, the number of applied exceed taken for many schools. Means need to ballot? it is different from the statistics here. Really need the historical statistics for Phase 2B :salute:

I consolidated the balloting history for 2018 while planning for my child. Hope it helps some of you :imcool:

Very generous of you to share. Thank you!

I like that you have listed the primary schools by alphabetical order. It’s much easier to find a school this way! :udaman:

I have added all the ballot history since 2009 :boogie:

https://just2me.com/sgprimary/

Now also categorize by region, so easier to see and compare in 1 page eg. https://just2me.com/sgprimary/2010/yishun/
Hi, I noticed that for Phase 2B, the number of applied exceed taken for many schools.
