Aiyah, I think put mine in CHIJ and sleep peacefully. She also can sleep peacefully and walk to school in 5 mins. 🙂
If you don't mind her taking schoolbus, go for Haig girls. Much better than KC.
Haig girls = schoolbus + strong academics + art + leadership program + not so nice uniform
      KC = walk 5min + gymnastics + classic uniform

Haig girls unlikely need to ballot <1km

        \"Much better\" is subjective.
TBH I don't think there's a lot of difference between the two schools.
Though Haig Girls is pretty unique - one of only two government run single gender school, KC has the benefit of affiliation to KC.

Haig girls is more strict than KC, KC girls are more eloquent.
There’s no need to link kc to kc secondary, when I asked kc secondary girls, most were very disappointed to end up there after psle, the cut off point is so low for express.

Girls from Haig girls are definitely more studious, a little more nerdier than KC. Most make it to TKGS, cedar, tkss equivalent secondary. I don’t really like Haig girls location but a better quality education surpass inconvenience.

Haig girls offer ballet as after school enrichment from p1.

Judging by current registration results from today, it already says a lot.

Judging by current registration results from today, it already says a lot.[/quote]What you have said, is the epitome of the meaning of subjective.

Haig Girls' girls have to be studious, given that they don't have affiliation to any school as a backdoor. \"Most\" make it to TKGS, etc is not a statement of fact since \"most\" is not quantifiable or able to prove (given the current circumstances).

And you cannot not linked KC primary to KC, given the direct affiliation. TBH I am not surprised some KC (secondary) girls were disappointed to end up there as they could be thinking of NYGH or RGS. However, being disappointed over not scoring well enough isn't the same as being disappointed with the secondary school, although most people can't seem to tell them apart. Also, don't let the COP of KC fools you - it should be noted that KC is an autonomous school (one of 28), i.e. an equivalent school and in the same classification as TKGS, Cedar and TKSS.

Lastly, registration results mean very little without the breakdown. It's an indication of popularity but popularity could be a combination of a number of factors and is not an indication of \"much better\".

Hi All, quick question. My Daughter is a SC.

RGPS is now 171 applicants for 76 seats. We are >2km (staying in Marine Parade) - and CHIJ (Katong) (Across our house <1km), is 47 applicants for 106 seats. It is likely that CHIJ (Katong) will still have spots left in 2C(S). However, I don't know if I need the drama or take the chance.

Question is, do you think it is useful to still try for RGPS (my deadline for submission is Thu 4.30pm) and take a chance? What are the chances of there being any spots left for >2km in RGPS? Or would you recommend just going to CHIJ directly and saving myself the drama?
Confirm with admin, if Rgps (SC > 2 km) can still ballot this year. Even if can ballot, it will be extremely competitive, under this > 2 km range, meaning that not many seats left, but many applicants will be applying under SC>2 km. This will be the very competitive scenario, if this year, Rgps (SC > 2 km) can still proceed to ballot

But if no chance to ballot, in the event RGPS (SC, between 1 to 2 km entered balloting instead), consider either Haig Girls or CHIJ Katong Convent. Haig Girls is a good school. CHIJ KC (primary), also good

CHIJ KC (primary), is still all right.

But for CHIJ KC affliated (Secondary) section Chinese, feel that will be better (improve) if their Chinese teachers (laoshi) can work harder, on her students. But that will be 6 years later. By then, maybe you can choose another preferred Secondary school

I would still choose either of these 2 primary All-Girls' schools, over St Margaret primary, although SC > 2 km no issue entering SMPS,

                      because

in St Margaret primary, after P4 year-end streaming, which Upper primary (P5 / P6) class your daughter gets eventually allocated (assigned) into, is important, because the influence of your P6 peers, fellow classmates, is crucial

                      Apart from peer influence -
If I am a P6 student scored 245 (5 points, below 250) in PSLE (St Margaret primary), for Secondary, I will choose Crescent Girls Sec or choose Chung Cheng High or Anglican High, won't remain inside the affliated Secondary. Inside St Margaret primary Top few P6 classes, many will be targetting RGS / National Junior College / Methodist Girls' Sec school / SCGS / St Nick. But if their Tscore cannot reach close enough to 257 to 261 range, if say, scored 245, they will still attempt exiting their affliated Secondary, if they can

But if I scored 201 in PSLE (St Margaret primary), then I will remain back inside the affliated Secondary

If your child is an SC,
can consider Marymount, for those who stay nearby, but not if u stay in the east, because too far. Marymount, for PR, they imposed a cap on PR. But if SC > 2 km, safe, got seats under Phase 2C
