I’ve got good neighbours. Been staying at my current place for about 13 yrs now. There’s only 3 units are we are on the 25th floor. They dote on my 2 sons as their children are adults now. We hold mooncake parties and new year’s day countdown parties every year. When we travel, one of the neighbours will come over to make sure our house is ok, feed our 4 fish tanks of fish and our tortise. I’ve been really blessed with good neighbours.

Hi MommyNg,Thank you for sharing. I'll try this on my DS as well. However, mine is more on composition. He tends to get it over and done. Thereafter, I realize lots of mistakes and confusion in the story. Let's see if I could apply the same concept.

I’ve managed to scale this concept of transferring values directly to a table for upper primary maths problem sums. It works and it eases the english comprehension aspect of complex problem sums. The method works by breaking down the analysis into simpler smaller steps. The conventional way is to analyse the problem and form a solution in the mind and then transfer that solution to paper. It is a one step process and is not really suitable for someone just starting to work on the problem sums. With this method, the analysis starts by first directly transferring values from the problem sum to a table. Then the relationships between the values are "seen" from the table. It is much easier this way.I will be conducting a free workshop on this method for parents on 21April and 28 April. You can see how this method scales for PSLE type complex problem sums. You can check out the Happening thread for details on this workshop.Parents who need a pdf copy of the diagrams I posted, can send me a PM with their email address. All the diagrams are in one pdf file. So it’s easier to print it out and have it in front of you while your child is working on "more than" "less than" problems. It will be great to print it out in colour.

Wow. My luggage is usually free gifts from some insurance company I've never paid more than $100 for it, as I don't travel a lot.

Hi everyoneMy girl is in k1 this yr. Weekdays she is attending 3hr kindergarten; saturdays english and chinese enrichment class; sunday gymnastics 2 hrs. I was told by her coach that she can be promoted to higher level with 6 hrs training per week (3 days, 2 hrs per day). My headache now is whether to let her go for intensive training 6-hrs or just stay put at 2hrs. On one hand, i dun want to pack her with too much classes and on the other hand, i wonder if i am holding her back. Really frustrated at this moment…wonder any parents in here with same experience before? maybe you would like to share with me? … thanks…HL
