Is there any community centre near your house, with reading room inside ?

If have, the reading room got individual cubicle inside, to do homework / self study.

Can call up all the community centre in your area, to find out (clarify). Ask whether the reading room have air con, or not. If have air con, ask your daughter to bring jacket along, in case the reading room is cold on rainy days.

Alternately, do you or your spouse join any Club house ?
If Yes, your daughter can go to the reading room inside your Club house, to study.

How about any relatives staying nearby ? On certain days, perhaps make arrangement with her cousins or relatives, to study at their house ?

If u want to send your kid to a students care centre, first, go find out the condition of the centre first. Because I ever visited one before where boys speak vulgar language at the student care centre, and kids can easily pick up these vulgar words, with all the cursing & swearing ! End up lagi worse, if send kid to such a student care centre
I will check on the CCs nearby our home.
We are not a member of any clubhouse but I will look into it.
We do not have family members around. We are a small family of our own. πŸ˜‚

Thank you so much! πŸ˜„

Hi, much as I agree with zacs mum, I'd be more at ease if there are responsible adults around?.. There's a student care which seems to be popular among our schoolmates (nhps; we have our own on-campus student care as well) & some neighbouring schools' (their uniform looks like qifa's) students: https://playfactoschool.com.sg/west-coast-student-care/
Thank you. We will consider this.

The safest place is probably her school library.
Never thought of their own school library. I'll check with the school if pupils are allowed to stay in the library after classes.

Thank you.

Hi! I am not sure if similar topic has been created. Pardon if I overlooked.

Our current helper of 10 years is about to expire her contract by end of this year and we are planning not to renew anymore. We have only 1 child and by the time we decided to stop getting help, our child will be in P5. She is independent and a bit mature for her age. However, we are not comfortable for her to go home after school as we are sharing our flat with non-relatives.

My question is, aside from the library - where do you think my daughter can stay after school while waiting for us to come home. Probably somewhere quiet where she can do her homework and self study. She likes the library but an alternative place will be a good reference.

We are staying in the West.

Thank you for reading. πŸ™‚

Successful at Westwood

Congrats... See u 2nd Nov. BTW u secured any student care? Called the one in Westwood.. Was told enough space and wait for school to mail out the orientation details and request forms.

Hi Eric! Congrats to us and yeah, see you. πŸ˜„

Student care is not priority since we have a help at home but I’m keen to try if there’s a slot. Hope you can get a slot.

Registered at Westwood PS yesterday and was informed that all 68 registrants at that time (2:30 PM) were Singaporeans within 1km.

Latest update in website is 47/74. Not sure if all are still SC within 1km though. Could be.

I thought snake babies are lesser than dragon babies? Hehe

Any other Westwood hopefuls?

Yeah.. I applied on first day online.. What's yr back up school? Westgroove?

Hi Eric. If balloted out, the safest is Pioneer PS. West Grove is already 63/58.. What's your back up?

Goodluck to us!
