    • RE: All About Kids' Eye-sight

Hi I thought of posting my experience just for sharing purpose.

My girl currently 14 started on atropine since 7yo to control her myopia. when she started she was ard -200. we tried different concentrations by on 1% (highest dosage) managed to control it. It managed to control it to -400 /-450 by the time she reaches 12, which in my opinion is quite good. We decided to lower the freq to every other day at 12yo and then decreased it to 0.125%. there are slight rebound effect and it’s now -450 / -600.

My my younger son, at 5yo, his eyesight was already found to be -200 (yes i literally cried when I found out). His Doc started him on myopia, but even at 1% he was seeing a range of -50 to -100 per year. Now he’s coming 10yo and already at -600 on both eyes. His doctor suggested he try Misight contact lens alongside with atropine. It’s been almost half a year and his eyesight seem to be under control. Am super super thankful Misight contact lens works.

But for the record my hubby has v v high myopia, so genetics plays a big part definitely.

PS: I always go to this shop for their glasses and she gives great prices for tomato glasses if anyone of you use that frame. She quoted me a good price for the Misight lens too. In case you are mistaken, I am not the shop owner, just sharing cos it’s been costly to change glasses / buy contact lens. PM me if keen to know
