I think it’s better, logistic wise, to have everyone in the same school. There’s no point trying to manage different schools / different location unless you have a village helping you out.

Whether HIPS is worth the effort to relocate, that’s a question only you can answer. Is it better than anything you have access to at the moment?

Yes, i think HIPS for phase2b is the safest choice now. Unless, i manage to get PV for other schools.

If you are registering for P1 next year and are still waiting for PV to be confirmed / clock the required hours, I think you will need to rethink your strategy.

Due to COVID, most schools have suspended their PV scheme or reduce their PV requirements. Given the reduced number of PV, it will be hard to get a spot. And even if they resume the scheme some time this year, I’m doubtful you will be able to clock the required hours for the endorsement.

Furthermore, you have the complication of sell house, buy / rent house before the deadline. It’s probably not a good idea to leave this to the last minute.[/quote]Ok, understand..thanks!

option 3- would it be better for the kids to be in separate schools? My preference would be for them to be in the same school as it would easier for me to manage everything. Is HIPS worth to relocate? Unable to get much feedback regarding this school. thank you for your reply!

Hello everyone, please give me some advice.

My twins will be registering for p1 in 2022, and here are my options:

      1) 2A2 at OLGC for my girl and shift to bartley area to try for Maris Stella pri (phase 2b) for my boy
      2) Shift to hougang and try for HIPS (phase 2b)
      3) im staying within 1-2km of Nan Chiau primary, pending letter for phase 2b. If get the letter, shift to SK
      3) phase 2c: punggol cove/green/view primary or valour primary (within 1km) - try for valour primary as the other schools have MK

Please give your opinion on which to choose or any other options i should consider? Thank you!

You have presented 3+1 options. Here’s what I think:

      1) Shift to SK and apply to NCPS under Phase 2B (assuming the endorsement letter is not an issue)
      - Probably the worst option of them all.
      - After all the hassle (sell house, buy house, shift house, PV for 80hrs), just to experience the joy of being denied at the ballot? What’s the point?

      2) 2A2 at OLGC, 2B at Maris Stella
      - Still has to go through the hassle of relocation but if you move to within 1km of Maris, you are guarantee a spot in both schools (so that’s already a better option than above).
      - However, if you are doing the sending / fetching routine, it will be a mad dash from Maris to OLGC or vice versa. If you are using the school buses, probably no such concerns.

      3) Shift to HG and apply in 2B at HIPS
      - Still have to relocate but if you move within 1km, your places should be guaranteed.
      - Both kids will be in the same school (not sure everyone will like that) and logistic wise, easier to manage.

      Extra option
      4) 2C any schools in Punggol that don’t have balloting
      - Not much to discuss.
      - it’s the least hassle but the schools don’t have sexier names compared to the ones above.

option 3- would it be better for the kids to be in separate schools? My preference would be for them to be in the same school as it would easier for me to manage everything. Is HIPS worth to relocate? Unable to get much feedback regarding this school. thank you for your reply!
