I don’t think factual errors are acceptable in a textbook.

    cwc:janet_lee88:
WOW, Brenda10, your child is lucky that the school has an organised way of conducting Oral revision. At my DS's school, despite the high marks allocation for oral (CL-30% & EL-16%), there does not seem to be a formal and organise way to revise oral. Teachers seemed to revise only when they can find time at the last minute  Therefore, it became very stressful for parents to do our own revision at home!Brenda's daughter is in a school which has teachers doing all they can to help students with ORAL. My son's school here doesn't seem to be doing anything and orals are just next week !!! We have to coach ourselves. my DS oral is tomorrow and I din do a single thing  I guess such things have to be a daily thing, in them ie. read, listen, watch drama, speak up etc (DS is a little reserved and quiet, he does not express his feelings....) so dun think my last minute drill will help at all. Think I better find some good & interesting programmes to let him watch.......I do believe it'll help cos' my DD likes to watch drama, and I do feel that her conversational skills are better.
Hi cwc,Most important is to ensure sufficient rest and ease the butterflies in their stomachs. I shoo-ed my child off to bed at 8pm last night (he was really surprised and asked me for more revision instead! :D). Don't think we can do much preparation today too because his school ends late today. Will get him off to bed early again tonight because oral is tomorrow.

    1. Go http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/index.asp2. Choose \"Advanced Search for Schools\"3. Click \"Level of Education\", leave \"Select a Level\" alone. (although you see the Primary as well but you need to see the Full Schools also)4. Click \"Submit\".5. Save the web page for future use or Copy the Text.6. Paste in Excel7. Keep info you want, delete what you do not want, re-arrange and you will get http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=279822#279822 or http://postimage.org/image/31f9xorqc/.

Hi, I am a volunteer teacher at a non-profit organisation. Recently, a good number of my students’ parents had informed me that their kids are still struggling with synthesis and transformation although teachers had covered them extensively in their respective schools. However, after looking through some of their school exercises, I was appalled to see that some of the answers given by the teachers were incorrect. They even gave an explanation for their ‘wrong’ answers. Ultimately, I am sure the children have become mixed up with conflicting answers and explanations. Parents were not aware of this as they were not endowed with the necessary knowledge to assess the situation. If your child is facing a similar problem with this section of the exam, I would suggest you take a look at the book ‘Editing, Punctuation, Synthesis and Transformation’ published by EPH. Three weeks ago when i tried to buy the book at few Popular outlets, I was told it was out of stock. They should be available by now. For those in P5, there is a P5 version as well with comprehensive notes and stimulating questions. For those in P6, it is not too late to score well in this section. They just need the right information to begin with.
