DS said he got a B for music. Passed his Art. I would like him to do well for his Art so he can carry on for Sec 3/4. It's the easiest subject to score without having to study.

ONLY if you're reasonably talented! I remember after my Sec 2 art exam, I took all my art materials and dumped them in my brother's room with a huge sigh of relief. Art had always been my worst subject and dragged down my average a lot. I would prefer to do almost any other subject than art!

I agree that Art is a difficult subject as an \"O\" level subject. You brought back memories of the 2 years where I had to repeat the same piece of work cos I cannot pass it. I cannot remember if it is only a grading but does not count towards the aggregate score. But it is no longer important.

I will prefer DD to do the 3 Sciences and 2 Maths at Sec 3/4. At least we can still help her.

Please, don’t do art for O levels…history, geography, sciences or A/E math…at least we can help in some way.

I've been buying a lot of paint this year...much more than those years in primary school :moneyflies: ...then I make noise when I see brushes, palette and cups of water in the sink :stompfeet:

Err....i dont rmb buying any paint for my gal when she was in lower secondary.....(perhaps she was using some leftover bot previously, i dunno)....

I rmb she did some portraits pencil drawings, chinese art and chinese calligraphy.....
Was rather surprised that the school provided them the stuff required like paper and ink for chinese art and calligraphy....

Ok I guess I was lucky. Art came natural so I took it as an additional subject since pure science kids didn’t have this as a subject then. Kinda of disappointed DS1 can’t seem to have a very good grip on this subject.

              Hi,

would like to know if any mummy here engaged a HCL home tutor for your child. If so, would you be able to recommend. No agent please. TIA!

Any of your kids have to take 2 papers in a day? Example Sci and Maths or Sci and home econs in a day?

Yes, son has 2 papers on one day...during a breakfast session, we were told that is expected for secondary school...but 2 is the max in a day.
