DS got back his Chinese mock paper today. Generally the class didn't do well. Tmr is the Chinese paper and teacher told them 'Tmr u all just aim to pass'. So demoralising.

I dislike such teacher! Last year DS science teacher told the class that all of them will go POLY because they are weak. Hello! they are only 12 years old and she has determined their road for them! I almost want to confront the principal for having such unforgiving teacher! Luckily, the class did better than her expectation and that shut her mouth!

Thus to fulfil that, DS came back, instead of bucking up, he started to do frivolous stuff instead of revising. :stompfeet:

correction. They were 11 years old then.

Happyheart, same with my DD. She grasp things slower and thus can see when she really use up her brain juice especially when come to Math. However once I find the spark as to how she can understand the concept better, she will insist to go solo for other similar questions and yes even when/if she's tired, she will want to press on cos she has finally got the hang of it. So like dowan to disrupt the momentum. She's also generally a good girl.

The satisfaction working with average/below average child like my DD is that the satisfaction is immense even for the slightest improvement because I understand it's harder for her if compared to other peers her age. She takes double time, sometimes way more... but once she gets it, she's on a roll.

PS. DD shared with her sister that she didn't have time to complete 6 Math qns on mixture of OE and problem sums. I pretended not to hear. :scared:

Buds, :snuggles: I find it so comforting to have ηŸ₯音人.
Our children may take longer time but certainly they will get there one day! Hubby and I are prepared to give him time. These days I am still stressed, hard for me to hide but I try not to show because I think deep down, he feels more stressed but is not showing.

Btw, the Science textbook is insufficient to prepare our children for PSLE. It will help a lot if your daughter read the Science PSLE Guide. We use the orange colour one by Marshall Cavendish.

Ultimate Science Guide is as must have for all P5 & P6. It is on NYPS booklist.

Is it by EPH? The Upper Block one is mainly blue in colour?

DS comment before bed last night is 'I am really worried about my Maths result'. This morning at breakfast , he asked a weird question...20+30 is 50 right? He stops after that.

I know what is going through his mind πŸ˜“ I pray.I feel for him.

I don't care what is the exam result. He loves the sea and marine animals. I am taking him out to the sea during June Holiday. :snuggles:

My DD will oso count liddat happyheart. πŸ˜‚

Now I don't ask anymore what she was counting. I will just wait to see paper. At least only get the heart palpitations once. πŸ˜„ After awhile, the heart attack reduced to palpitations because I know her competency level. Can pass... good enough.
