Not all kids are blessed with time to be consistent especially if no one is supervising or if they have no one to look over their work or revision. Some children have only gramps or maid at home after school, in fact, I know of a few who are without anyone at home everyday after school. Their parents have to work to make ends meet. Some families with elder siblings are left to care for younger ones. Some have no tuition option as well. Consistency needs tracking and not all children/parents can afford that.
i agree. So i always remind him how fortunate he is....
my son still not doing well with consistent revision..imagine will be worst without revision.... -

Regular revision is important...use a good guidebook. My P5 gal's tuition center will teach the topics ahead of her school, hence she will have more time to understand the concepts. Initially it was tough as the tuition center and school have different topics; we used the one week holiday break to catch up and by term 2, tuition center and school complete the same topics. I also use the Nail those MCQs - very good in enforcing the important concepts and keywords. For OE questions, I get my gal to attempt the question before looking at the model answer. Get her to highlight the keywords and concepts applied in the answer. For \"lengthy answers\" such as describe the digestion process or water cycle, I get her to draw and write down on pen. Also, do study the mind map to refresh the topics 1-2 days before the actual exam date.
Can any mummy enlighten what does it mean by \"Mind Map\" since there is quite a lot of notes and facts to memorise for Sci, gottto learn some tips to help our kids, -

DD’s project for the coming school holidays is to do up the mindmaps and notes for the topics that have been covered for Science so far. Got her index cards and colourful pens to doodle to her heart’s content.

Can share what kind of index cards you get for your girl to do the Science notes? From popular? any pictures can share?
:thankyou: -
To brush up science, parents have to spend time to read and explain the concepts to the child. Bring in everyday examples and if possible so experiments…Picture speaks a thousand words, viewing experiments through YouTube is also a gd way to get their interest.

2 years back, send my gal for Tony Buzan mind mapping when she was P2. She didn’t quite understand it.
But now gal told me it is so useful for her Science. She doesn’t have to memorise so many things.
It was a short course of 5days in CDAC. Infact, if you go to the centre, the price is not alot. -
Hi,
Sorry, is there any recommendation for home tutor for P4 science, maths and english to teach in Bukit Timah in the afternoon on weekday? Can let me know?
Thank you.

Hi, may I know which tuition centre your gal goes? Thanks -
We have set up a new branch in CCK to address the need for quality science tuition in the West.
