How do you prepare the salmon? I have a tub of un-opened miso paste in the fridge.

You can get the recipe from here
      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=11890

You can either cook it on a skillet or bake it in oven. But i find cooking it over the skillet so much faster, no pre heating of oven needed.

Thank you! gonna try out this weekend :rahrah:

I am so sian of my maid's cooking that I started to suggest eating out 2 to 3x a week. I can't cook so I don't know how to teach her yet she is also not innovative enough to create a variety of dishes from that few groceries that I buy (we don't eat pork out of respect for maid). What can I do here? Are there any easy recipes with minimal ingredients/sauces to intro thanks

Btw, I always buy back the same food because I don't know what else can be cooked with those other food that I do not buy, when I send my maid to do the marketing instead, she bought back exactly what I would have bought too.
How about looking into cook book? If your maid know the basic for cooking, browsing recipes with pictures will give her more ideas for variety.

Was about to suggest that. But don't just leave it to her to decide whether she wants to try out the new recipes. You pick a dish the you want to try and tell her to follow the recipe and instructions to cook it.

Hv u tried youtube? I find many helpful videos on how to handle food ingredients as well as ways to cook. U can check out these videos, then buy the grocery based on the ingredients, then do it tge with your maid.

Else check out the food threads for simple recipes like:

            1. Butter rice
            2. egg roll with fish paste
            3. roast chicken - whole/parts
            4. baked rice/pasta with Campbell soup or canned pasta sauce
            5. Miso soup with tofu
            etc

Many of us have shared simple recipes. Surely some can be suitable for you šŸ˜‰

Feed DS is actually a challenge or could be easy, depending on how you view it. He is quite a picky eater and lately he has this thing about eating only 1 dish with his rice. Cannot have a 2nd dish.

Your son should come and live in my house - almost all meals are just 1 dish. When I have a 2nd dish, everyone comments on it!

Look through the dishes here and in the 1-dish meal thread, and then tell your maid what you want her to cook. I believe there are cooking courses for maids too, you may want to ask around.

I dunno what is it, saw RASAM = maybe can be use as assam???

                        Ingredients:
Coriander, Chili, Tumeric, Cumin, Fennels, Black pepper, Urid Dhal, Toor Dahl, Mustard, Curry leaves, Asafoetida, Garlic, Common salt, Critic acid.

                        Edit:

just google, it is used to make Southern Indian soup. Supposed to be hot n sour = can be used to cook assam fish lah :rahrah: (my conclusion)
