Wonder the school will ask the students go back for remedial class if scored below marks 80?

Maybe not below 80 marks, but as long as the student scored Band 2. http://media.photobucket.com/user/ezgoin_photos/media/Scared.gif.html -

No lah, QMS. My DS1 had gotten a band 2 previously, no remedial.titank:

As for below 80, I am not sure. But I do noe that not all kids below 80 need remedial classes.
Actually, if there is remedial classes, just treat it as free tuition. I ever asked my DS1 to ask his chinese teacher for remedial but his teacher truend him down cos based on his P4 results, he does not require remedial.
Almost all his results are out, his worst performance is chinese as expected... -
Dino mummy:
I think it depends on the teacher. My son's Maths teacher last year insisted that all students who scored Band 2 and below during SA1 attend remedial lessons during the June holidays. This teacher, this year, implements the same \"policy\" to her class, too.No lah, QMS. My DS1 had gotten a band 2 previously, no remedial.

For my son's Science teacher, I think those who scored Band 2 and below last year have been attending remedial. That's why I thought maybe the cut-off is 85 instead of 80.Dino mummy:
http://media.photobucket.com/user/bassdom1/media/Smiley%20face/hi5.gif.html Totally agree with you. In fact, when I heard that my son's Science teacher had this remedial class, I asked my son to request his teacher to include him. But, I suppose my boy is a member of NATO so it hasn't materialised yet.Actually, if there is remedial classes, just treat it as free tuition.
Dino mummy:
This showed that his result wasn't that bad after all, right?I ever asked my DS1 to ask his chinese teacher for remedial but his teacher truend him down cos based on his P4 results, he does not require remedial.

I agreed with you. It depend on the kid's lucky to end up with what kind of teacher. Not all teachers are willing to conduct remedial class lesson during the school holiday.Dino mummy:

Without Oral and Compo, already 70+. With these 2 sections added, it will drag his score further.
I accepted that already since everyone is saying there will defintely a difference in score compared to P4. -

Your boy takes Normal Chinese, right (I read somewhere that you chose to opt him out of HCL. Please forgive me if I remembered wrongly.)? When the teachers return the scripts to the students, will you be able to kindly feedback what you think about the paper? Difficult or easy? At least it will let me be psychologically prepared and not end up too http://media.photobucket.com/user/karate_man_mike/media/Random/O_O.gif.html next year. As it is, my boy's SA1 results so far have already made me http://media.photobucket.com/user/denistephenson/media/SMILEYS/smiley_text/JC_faint.gif.html. -
Yes, standard chinese…I was right to agree he took standard chinese instead of HC.
No prob, I will feedback…Stay tuned -
May I know there are how many Bands? Band 1 to Band 9? From what I know Band 1 is 85 & above.
True since 4 weeks school holiday can use it to improve the weaker subjects. Anyone know any form of revison class for P3 science as DS suffers very badly last year. From what I know PSLE will test P3 to P6 Science. -
Dino mummy:
At which level is HCL offered? Thanks...Yes, standard chinese...I was right to agree he took standard chinese instead of HC.

P3 to P4, certain classes will take HC but not tested in exams. They took the same papers as the standard chinese children.

P5. School will recommend wht the child to take HC or Std chinese...Up to the parents to agree the school's recommendation.
Like wise for Foundation and Standard level. If offered Foundation, I think can appeal to school. but if the child cant manage, school will force them to drop at P6.
