I'm looking at the past balloting history. Can I interpret that as long as there is balloting for those staying within 1km, my chance of getting in to the school is almost zero if I stay within 1-2km?

No. of Vacancies = 180

Phase 1 TUR = 32% = 32%*180 = 57

No. of vacancies left = 180-57 = 123

Phase 2A APP = 11% ==> 11%*123 = 13 applied in P2A

No. of vacancies left = 123-13 = 110

TUR so far = (57+13)/180 = 39%

After P2A, remaining places split equally between P2B and P2C. Hence, P2B and P2C had 55 places each.

P2B APP = 2% ==> 2%*55 = 1 applied in P2B

TUR so far = (57+13+1)/180 = 40%

We were thinking of removing those tables completely, and just let people look at the graphs. Easier to understand, although the graphs does not show the level of over-subscription at each Phase.

What is your concern for retaining the tables? Information collection? Maintenance? I think the tables are more informative than the graphs, at least to me. I usually go for the tables rather than the graphs. So, when the graphs were updated but not the tables, I actually felt \"handicapped\".

We found a good way of updating the information by converting the tables into bitmaps just like the graph, so we don't have to edit 27 different articles each at the end of each phase. It's not maintenance cost, but rather the value of the statistics to people. The numbers can be quite daunting to the uninitiated looking at them for the first time. Your feedback about the usefulness of the statistics helps We will continue publishing those tables then.

BTW, there are many who ask for raw numbers instead of percentages. We will not provide those raw numbers because that would be duplicating what MOE is already providing. Our interest is to use the relative percentages to highlight the take up rates of places during the exercise.
In any case, the raw numbers can be worked out as what qms has demonstrated earlier.

Understand the amount of work involved in the updating.

It took you a great amount of time and effort to collate those numbers that you show, so it will be a waste if all these are eliminated. I am for whatever suggestion you have (showing graphs only or graphs+tables) so long as we can have the same quality information that we have been seeing in those pages.
