I think diff kids will have diff weaknesses, it’s good to know what the weaknesses are and give extra practice or help in that area. For instance, if having trouble with English cloze passage, then try out more passages using p6 assessments. Going for tuition is another avenue for more practice. GEP kids tend to learn fast so just don’t give up. Learnt a lot from experienced parents so I think it’s pretty normal to experience a few emotional ups and downs in P4.

Does anyone know if the kids will be getting their report books this term? Or just a report slip like in term 1?

My DS is very bad in CT1 test especially in cloze. I called his teacher. She told me that it's equal to P5 level. After comparing, I don't believe. I think you are right. I will try P6 assessment. But his comprehension is also very difficult, more than P5. Is P6 comprehension fit for P4 GEP test?

First of all, let me just say that I think the CT1 English paper was a killer. My dd's class highest marks less than 80! All other subjects results are fantastic, esp Maths, science, social studies.

Comprehension - I think it's closer to P6 or Sec 1, depending on the topic. No doubt the kids need more practice... Cloze - P6 PSLE assessments are very similar in my opinion.

                      Don't give up! 🙂
