      raysusan,

Any idea if Greenwood accepts PV, and the chances of PVs getting into
      the school at phase 2B?
(asking on behalf of stardust_sq) πŸ˜„

Thanks to all.in.one for posting my question.

I already staying less than 1 km within Greenwood Primary so wondering if really have to be kiasu! and still need to do PV? πŸ˜‰ I will be registering my son for Primary One - year 2012 intake.

      Hi stardust_sq
If I'm not wrong, the school had just enough vacancies for those within 1km last year, so no balloting was conducted. So as KS parents, it is safer to call the school to check and volunteer if necessary. πŸ˜„

        Hi DecJan,

Mind to tell me why you choose Greenwood over other schools in Woodlands? Is it because Greenwood is nearer to your house?

          Hi worryfather,
we were looking at Admiralty Pri and Greenwood Pri then as both were near to our place. Though Admiralty Pri was clearly more popular going by the balloting needed, we chose Greenwood because that was our son's choice. We drove him to see both schools and somehow, he felt that he liked Greenwood and did not want Admiralty.

Over the last few years, I see much changes to the school. My son is in Sec 1 now and my daughter is in P3. My daughter has tougher test/exam papers as compared to when my son was in P1 to P3. Other changes include having wushu and gymnastic for PE lessons, as well as mid-autumn celebration πŸ˜„

            I see. Thanks.. πŸ™‚

did your boy tell you why he chose Greenwood? πŸ™‚

how's the quality of the teachers and principal?
any complaints from your son and daughter?

think will need to visit Greenwood if they open to public.

At that time he was only 5+ ... so choice not based on anything measureable but rather his \"feel\" when he looked at the two schools. Some people may think it was silly of us to leave the decision to the child. But for us, since both are neighourhood schools and he was the one who would spend 6 yrs in the school, it was important that he likes the school. We feel that as long as we monitor his school work, there should not be much difference between the two schools.

Can't really tell you the quality of teachers and principal because it is very subjective. Be it top or neighourhood schools, there will always be good and \"not-so-good\" teachers. And teachers/principal do change schools. So far, I think my kids' teachers are OK. My son/daughter was/is happy going to school everyday and that, to us, is very important. πŸ˜„

I think it is ok to trust your son's feel, if you think he can make good decision..

I agree with you that if your kids are happy with the school, he/she will able to learn well even if it is a neighbourhood school..

                Good for you.. πŸ™‚

                    Hi justsay,
that's right, my neighbour's boy had in-line skating in P4/P5 (can't remember). And from this year, the school has an Art Elective Programme for selected pupils . This 24-wk programme is aimed at providing artistically inclined pupils the opportunity to deepen their skills in the various visual art forms and techniques:D

                        Hi zzsunshine,
I presume you live near GWPS and so shd be more than 2km from Chongfu. Siince you sounded more for Chongfu, have you tried calling Chongfu to gauge your chance before deciding? πŸ˜„
