All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

a lot of parents do volunteering work for the desired school that they want to enrol their child in. is this really a way to have a better chance of securing a seat for my child? heard that this volunteering-work system will be strike off soon, anybody heard of it?
The PV will not be strike off as the school need extra helps from Parents and their in house Parent support group. Especially the school is having events, concerts,festival,sport day etc..
It is an earlier phrase for parents to register in 2B and secure a place for your child, or extra chance to ballot again in 2C (2nd choice school) if you're balloted out from 2B phrase.

Is true only if the pv stay within 1 km from popular school.
If the pv stay more than 2 km from popular school, then there is no extra chance for her under 2c. -

Most of my targeted schools listed their PV application deadlines as Nov 2013. Should I send in the application now or nearer the deadline?

Did you rec the letter fr school that state you have completed PV hrs and eligible for P2B ?
The registration dates for P2B are 22/7 - 23/7, the registration hours from 8am - 11 am and 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm.
These are the doc you need to bring, http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/required-documents/
Plus the letter fr the school certifying that you are eligible for P2B
You need to go to the school of your choice with the above documents to register. It will speed things up if you make a copy of the documents stated in the link, that's relevant to your situation. -
