Secondary School CCA

Tried that already. My older daughter was in the same shoes. For some reason, the school values attendance over results. So for this daughter, I'm trying to do something more creative. Gain competition points and participation points from different CCAs. That's why I'm looking for the least siong CCA.Talk to the school! In her case, I believe she can be exempted from taking other CCA in school.
My girls primary school doing so for sports. Only need a letter from the coach, club or prove of competition representation and they will add that commitment into her report book.
Just that someone got to keep her record properly and submit to the school to claim the points. -
My daughter is currently a performing member of the Singapore Symphonic Youth Orchestra / String Synfonia. As I understand, this qualifies as CCA under MOE. She is in River Valley High this year and has to choose CCA. In terms of the LEAPS Grading system, is it better to stay at SSYO as CCA or participate in school CCA?

I don't know leh, it really depends on what RV's system is like. If I remember correctly, the principal has to sign the letter for your daughter to join SSYO, right? It says that the school has to accomodate her practise and performance times etc. Check with the principal how she would fair for LEAPS. Incidentally, RV is an IP school, should you be worried about LEAPS? Sorry if I recall these facts wrongly, it was 6 years ago when my kid was in SNYO. May have changed now... -

What is this A1 about ? CCA got grades ? I thought only points ? How about CCA for IP school, any great values for Uni admission ? :?2ppaamm:
Hm... maybe infocomm is good like mathsparks' daughter. Wonder if it is siong... and still can get A1, not bad...
Ermm, getting a1..is not just by joining infocomm. I mentioned competitive sailing in 1st 2 years, then there's cip of more than 100 hours, plus various leadership positions over the 4 years. -

MathsSparks,
thanks for the link. Very useful and informative. -
You’re welcome, lovingmum. A lot of other schools also have such briefing notes all over the net.
