              hi all

Thinking of registrating my son in JWPS for 2014 enrollment, i’m staying less than 1km from JWPS but i’ll be thrown to phase 2C.
However i have an option to register him to Xingnan at phase 2A(1). Any advice to be given whether should i go for one school which just opposite me or go to one whereby no balloting required?
Also any advice on these two schools?

                Hi smurftie,

Based on my experience, go for school that is near to home. It's always more convenient and more savings in the long run. Just to share with you, my No.1 spends an average of 2 hours in the bus each day just to get to and from school, as the bus goes round the estate. He complains and grumbles, and the travelling made him tired everyday. My No.2 joining the school next year, hence decided to move within 2 minutes walking distance to school end of year. My No.1 jumped for joy when we told him we are moving near to school. We did thought of transferring him to school nearer home, but he refused. He loves his school.

To me, other than Rulang in JW area, the remaining schools in this area are about the same.

JWPS and Xingnan have their own niches..

In term of popularity, perhaps JWPS is more sought after based on the balloting history.

Of course, if you want a stress free P1 regn process, then go for the guaranteed Xingnan regn. You may subsequently move nearer school??

At the end of the day, I would again advise a long term convenience, ie go for school near home...my 2 cents.

I wonder how accurate is this ranking in Facebook ?
how credible or reliable is the source ?

Am surprised that pei hwa Presbyterian primary ranking is ... Above 50 ?

Pei hwa academic standard is high.
pei hwa is a sap school -
her chinese standard is high, Plus other subjects for english, maths, science academic rigor also demanding.

How can pei hwa be above 50 ?

                      For JW area:

                      Ranking:
                      No. 3 Rulang Primary

                      No. 80 Jurong West Primary

                      No.124 Shuqun Primary
                      No. 124 Xingnan Primary

No. 162 Boon Lay Garden Primary
                      No. 162 Corporation Primary
                      No. 162 Juying Primary
                      No. 162 Pioneer Primary
                      No. 162 West Grove Primary

                      No. 174 Frontier Primary
based on what reasons do they draw the conclusion that there is a tie at position number 162, by the following 5 schools, ie.
                      - by Boon Lay garden, juying, pioneer, west grove, corporation primary ?

If there is a tie, normally 2 schools tie.
Where got 5 schools (so many) tie together ?

                        Hi,

Can anyone advise which is a better sch comparing Lakeside Pri and Shuqun Pri. I am struggling making a decision on which one to go for balloting under Phase 2C on 30th July 2013.
In terms of proximity Lakeside Pri is nearer within 1km and Shu Qun is within 2Km from my place. Frankly, I am in more favour to Shu Qun Pri as from what I know they are more sought after with more activities and their website is more informative giving me an impression that it seems a better sch than Lakeside.
