My girl had her spelling practice today too. But I do not see the spelling list meant for 7/1 and 14/1 among the whole stack of spelling lists she brings back today (earliest is 21/1). According to her, the spelling list for 7/1 and 14/1 has been handed over to teacher.

Is this the case for your girl too ? What is the usual practice ? What do the dates mean ? e.g. if the spelling list has the date 21/1, does it mean the list will be tested on 21/1 or the girl has to bring the list on 21/1 ?

      Thanks ! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Rgds,
      Ming
Same problem here, anybody wonder why teachers dont write notes explaining,or are we supposed to figure it all out by ourselves?

Hi Siti, Just curious, yr other grl is now in P6. How did u handle her h/w, spelling and enrichment classes when she was in P1, was she more independent than DD3?

Today is my DD spelling day. 10 words and 1 sentence. She is P2 this year. I used to test her at least 3 times at home before she can get all correct but last night I only test her 1 time and she got all correct. Looks like she has adjusted herself to it.

Hi Siti: How do I get to meet the class teacher?(We did not get to meet her during the orientation day in Nov.)

Should I email her for an appt or wait for the parent teacher conf?
Would there be any more info sharing session by the school? Vaguely remember the principal mentioning that during the Nov session.

Vgb, better to send her an email to schedule a time. It's first week of school and the admin work would probably pile up from here.

There're 2 PTC after SA1 and SA2. Hope that helps!

Hi Moonee, i've been keepg the same routine for pm session w abit of adjustment for DD3. DD2 came hme at 7.15pm - dinner - chg - sch hw (no tuition)-slept at 9-woke up at 9, breakie, chg & spellg test-R&R.( now all Sleeps ard 10.30pm w 4 children n it takes a while for my 3 gals to share stories on bed before snooze). DD2 had Islamic class on Sat am & ballet at NAFA on Sun am. I think it's easier w DD2 coz sibling no. 3 & 4 were not ard still :). DD2 & DD3 doesn't do ballet anymore coz we realise their interest is in sports. DD2 basketball sch team & DD3 in tennis. when CCA for tennis in sch resumes, she will join.

W DD3, she has a lil' more distraction frm DD4 (K1) so it's challenging to get her on routine.. coz DD4 wants to be entertained but i'll cope sooner . DD2 was much more manageable! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi, if you can't wait for SA1... alternatively u can write in her handbook for her subject teachers email add & hp no. (u can try ur luck:)). Ask you DD to pass to form teacher to read. I have received 1 email add frm Ms Joyce Tan (mth tchr). Pending for the rest. I find its not parent-tchrs friendly here (sowie) unlike my SS1 pri sch (st. stephen) anytime anyday we are free to speak w the teachers or call them. I guess it's a diff sch values. And i kind of miss alot in RGPS (i had so much fun w my boy & his sch now that he's in Sec 1). But u can join the rgps pvg.. u kind of get some perks to be ard the sch more often than non-pvg:).
