Some stuff we did this June holiday. Some of kiddos friend came over a couple of times for some gathering. So aside from the usual running/cycling round the whole estate and swimming, we had some of these activities. My house was like the estate RC for the kids. They just kept streaming in and out



Homemade Cheese
It was an experiment that we tried. For a first try, we got pretty nice cream cheese. We dare not try ageing the cheese but maybe next time we will leave it in the wine fridge to let it age and see what happens.

Cinnamon Teacake & Angel cupcakes
DD bought these 2 types of ready mix and made these herself.

Homemade noodles
I got my new toy. A pasta maker.

Giant bubbles
Got some dish detergent, glycerine, some straws, some yarn and off they go. They tried various proportions to get the most stable solution to make those big bubbles. Bubbles are such an attraction for kids. Started out with kiddos and their friends. Before long practically all the kids from the whole estate, not to mention a few adults, were trying to make the biggest bubble possible

Yucky slime
Clear liquid glue, liquid detergent, food colouring, stir and have fun with some slime

Lego balloon car race.
Since we were stuck indoors, we decided to make our own fun. Silly, spatially challenged me fixed the balloon on wrongly and my car went on reverse instead. Needless to say I lost the first few race. Kiddos were quick to figure out what needs to be done to make sure the cars zoom across the living room.

In the garden
Planted Sunflowers and reared some butterflies since my lime plant was infested. Butterflies flourished but sunflower seedling, after surviving the haze and the strong winds, were eaten by pesky snails!

'Urban' Watergun warfare!
I have now idea how or when but when I got home kiddos were engaged with some other kids of the estate having a ball of a time with waterguns. And at one point DS was defending his fort with my garden hose!

Well there was also the usual computer, ipad and xbox games and inhouse movies.
