Just heard from my k2 daughter’s teacher that this batch -
some parents had moved into maplewood condo apartment, to be less than 1 km from mgs primary.
Also, a number of parents did parent volunteer work at Rgps, applying under 2b. This type of stress is … -
hi all, I am going to register my girl for2014 enrollment. I am in dilemma between NYPS and RGPS. We will be under 2C within 1km for both schools. Understand that we have better chance for RGPS vs NYPS, but my 2nd child is boy, if we register in RGPS, 2 years later, we have to ballot in NYPS again; we again worried about what if fail in balloting in NYPS? Thanks for advice!

Nanyang being a co-ed school -
is highly competitive, to get in !
Boys can only go nanyang co-Ed primary.
Parents with daughters also prefer nanyang -
because Nyps girls can enter into affliated nanyang girls high secondary, at 250 cut off point. In contrast, Rgps is not affliated to raffles girls’ secondary. Child need to score minimum cut off point at 26x +, before can get in. This is tough!
it is therefore easier to enter RGPS first, because un-affliated "All girls" school.
after your daughter enter RGPS already, then fill up "Transfer form" after 1 August (last day of Phase 2C) - queue up & seek transfer into Nanyang.
if not, wait until your son’s turn 2 years later, then try Nanyang again.
for now -
more important is make sure your daughter get in first, into either school.
right now, you not sure if you ballot for Nanyang - can get in or not. -

Thank you very much for your advice. It enlightens me.
But do you mean we shall fill up \"Transfer form\" after 1 August (last day of Phase 2C) - queue up & seek transfer into Nanyang?
On the last day of 2C, the result has not been announced yet, we still not know whether my DD get a place in RGS? What doc requirement except the transfer form? Guess I should prepare several copies of the IC/BC/Immunision cert etc on the day?
Maybe I go to register my DD in RGS first and fill up the \"transfer form\" in Nanyang on 1 August the same day?
:thankyou: -

You still have time to plan ahead for your son. Try to see if you are able to improve your chances in P2B by being a PV in NYPS. -
dear "Go to school",
after you register your girl on the last day of Phase 2C (1 August), ask that P1 registration officer - when can the school confirm that your daughter has successfully got a place in ? She will let you know.
after Raffles Girls primary confirmed that your child has successfully got in under Phase 2C, then you may start to seek transfer.
Go to Nanyang school website, download "Transfer form" request, and apply / submit. If your child has special talent that Nanyang school likes, highlight that to the Principal.
it does not mean "First Come, First Serve".
in the event there are parent volunteers having clocked minimum 80 hours & staying more than 2 km failed to ballot into Nanyang during phase 2B balloting, and in the event vacancie(s) arise - the Principal may consider giving them the priority first. It is entirely up to Nanyang’s Principal discretion.
