BTW, many pple are lobbying the MOE to remove Phase 2A (go read the Recess thread - Opinions of P1 Reg). You guys better pray the MOE doesn't announce anything drastic this May. Last year, they also announced the \"Singaporeans priority over PR\" news in May.
Anyway before I say anything, I have to declare that all my kids are already schooling and they are beyond Primary 1. So don't flame me that it's for my own interest.

These group of self sensed non thinking parents who think they are really smart by putting pressure on MOE and trying to lobby for change.

Let me tell you, the group of alumni parents are of even larger number and lobbying the MOE to retain this will be of louder sound than those lower volume noise. Even I do not need this for my children anymore now, I will be behind the group who will still lobby for the P2A to stay. The MOE likely to make more alumni parents angry than the smaller complaining group of non alumni.

The popular school normally comes with a long and good history that are the contribution mainly by generations of alumni, without them those school will not be what they are today.

                Do you mean P5 or P6 ?

For P5 (this year), there wasn't any supplementary lessons held during the June holidays.. But the kids did go back to school for CCAs.. 😄

Is this what they have been teaching since I left?
What happened to 亲爱忠诚, 敬业乐群 ?

                      Peace everybody... 😄

The CHS Family Day was great fun today! Kudos to everyone, staff and parents support groups for organizing this event.

                      :thankyou:

                        ...亲爱忠诚, 敬业乐群...

                        Are you an old boys?

Anyway, this P1 registration has got nothing to do with 亲爱忠诚, 敬业乐群. Did the school teaches if the P1 registration system is right or is wrong?

The system P1 registration has been around for many years, why only recent years then start to have parents complaining this and that? The complaints are just to serve each own personal agenda or just vent their anger without studying carefully how to best choose which school which you have a higher chance of getting in.

That is why as parents, we need to learn how to best fit ourselves and our children into the current system (adapt), it not, either you have to get into a position where things can be changed (attack) and not just complaining or just simply get out of the while system altogether (avoid), I call the 3 'A' of life. Not getting into your self thought to be the best school in town is not the end of the world, is it the best will not be known until your child reaches P6. This is call adaptation and survival of fittest.

For those who have successfully got into their 'dream' school via PV, Church, Grassroot, honestly how many still carry on after their child got into P1. If they still carry on after P1, this is what I call 亲爱忠诚, 敬业乐群. For their truly volunteer spirit effort bears the sweet fruit in which their child's children will be able to get into the school of their dream too.

Just like my DS, originally wanted to send him to a neighbourhood school so can benefit DD, was monitoring closely each phase. And was surprised that year the neighbourhood school was over subscribed at Phase 1 and was quite sure that by Phase 2C has no chance of not balloting. I change strategy halfway to send him to another school under Phase 2A2.

And the headache comes when DD was going P1 few years after, back then again monitoring all schools up to Phase 2B very closely, and choose a school which no need to ballot in Phase 2C.
