2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take
-
phtthp:
If parents with 2008 kids want to register as alumni members, they will have to quickly check with their alma mater. Usually there's a min time-frame on membership requirement before they are able to use the alumni member status to qualify for P2A1.
I foresee that from next year batch of p1 registration (ie. kids born 2008 onwards):-wiltanws:
I also think that MOE will not intervene this time as the rules are very clear and they cannot change when the registration process had started. If there's really some school stop at 2A2 this time, I can foresee many people will voice their unhappiness and the govt may tweak the rule in the following yr.
Many phase 2a(2) parents will try their best to \"move up\" to phase 2a(1), ESP. In popular schools like ai tong, henry park, nan Hua, nanyang, acs, Fairfield, etc.
Because these 4 schools like (ai tong, nan Hua, nanyang, Henry park) :-
Their take off starting point in phase 1 already exceeded 50 % beyond half way mark so fast, hence by the time they reach phase 2a(2) - 2a(2) is no longer safe (unlike in the past).
In the event of balloting in 2a(2) at ai tong,
They still go by distance. Those staying less than 1 km are safer, compared to those staying more than 2 km. -

For a child whose parent is a former student of the primary school and who has joined the alumni association as a member not later than 30 June 2012.
So for parents to qualify to register under 2A1 next year, they should have joined their alumni association by now, i.e. before July. Otherwise it's too late. -

Thanks for pointing it out, CayennePepper! It is restrictions like these that make it so important for parents to be well-informed and prepared many years in advance. To qualify for this year's Phase 2A1:-

Yup. Pays to be kiasu or what I like to think as \"do your research early\" :siam:

Then you know all your options and can decide what you want or don't want to do.
:lovesite:
I did my research when dd1 was 4yos. I know I didn't want to join as alumni member becos was giving up my alma mata. I'm very shy so cannot go GRL, plus no time liao. See I was late when dd1 was 4yos LOL. I was in the wrong dialect and religion category. LOL. Unlike Meng Mu I do not want to shift house, no evidence of bad influence wat heehee
In the end I went with PV and a back-up plan. -
ChiefKiasu:
Np... my job as a ksper

I almost got caught by this date issue a few years ago, when registering my dd
Once in a while MOE quietly changes/adds some words here and there, so parents, please read every single word and don't rely on what you hear.
When I registered my ds1 for p1 many years ago, immunisation records were required, \"if available\". Subsequently, in the year i registered my dd, these two words disappeared. Unaware of this, a friend didn't bother to get hold of her child's records, and was informed by her school that her application could not proceed because her immunisation record was not submitted. :scared: -

So it pays to be kiasu AND kiasi :siam:
Like me calling the school even though I knew dd1 submitted the registration form LOL -
SAHM, yup, my friend claimed she almost collapsed on the spot because it was late afternoon of the last day of that phase!
You're right about being kiasu and kiasi for p1 registration
不怕一万只怕万一! -
Plus dont just read MOE website. If want to be PV MUST read school’s website too becos some schools close their PV period earlier. Some are 2 yrs earlier before the P1 registration date. So there are many 万一 for P1 registration.

The real "battle" will start for Aitong for 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take as mentioned above that parents need to be alumni member 1 year before(30 June 2013) the registration. So for next year registration, I think the results might be similar to this year.
Maybe in 2015, there will not be even phase 2A2, and balloting in phase 2A1, that will really be the ultimate scenario… -
immunisation record, just print out from IMH website the copy just submit together with application school to school will do right? if apply online how to submit the record? pls advise
