Anyway, I do like some of the policies, but sometimes one size doesn't fit all lah... Hope that they will listen and change accordingly. The gahmen has changed a lot in recent years, and I believe they will continue to change going forward...

I am not running for opposition ma... never will go into politics. No time, no money to waste, don't bother, rather spend some time with friends and have a cup of tea sometimes.

But all the leaders graduate from foreign universities. We still send our top president scholars overseas.. Ironical. If we are so confident of our education, why send them away. Afterall, we have 3 (going to be 4) \"GREAT\" universities, don't we?
Actually, tomorrow I must talk to my friend, maybe just \"tong\" another 4 years, then try and go for university... Take up the place of a talented child there rather than in the schools...

most (all?) leaders graduate from local pri/sec la....this is MOE's ricebowl....

if your friend's appeal does not go through, just tong another 4 yrs, after all already tong 6 yrs and there are a lot of other options out there for motivated learners. when one window is closed, another will be open.

A lot of people say that homeschooled kids lack social interaction. What social interaction do they miss? Mixing with kids all of the same age? But the society is not like that ma... it is made up of people of ALL ages. Wouldn't it be the school is a school environment, then when we leave, we learn new ways to cope with the society. New rules, new ways of interacting...

I recalled having read somewhere on more than one instance
that those young prodigies in Unis emotional development were lacking
far behind their mental abilities.
In their growing up years, the kids should really
have more opportunities to interact with people of ALL ages
in varied environments.
I didn't mean that they should be limited to kids of their
own age in a school environment.

Totally agree. So even if our kids are in the local school environment, it is important to get them into sports and other stuff. Social environment, I feel, is more important than academic...

Aiyah, nobody needs one to multiply 345 x 349823 everyday mentally ma, but all of us will benefit from those kind words and good deeds every once in a while. I think Singapore's education is sorely lacking in that... the REAL social part. Not the \"meet teacher and principal KPI\" type.

Very often, parents homeschool children to inculcate these qualities, character building and religious studies far more than for academic reasons.
