Ahmad Ibrahim Sec Sch has been improving in the recent years… My ex-neighbour’s children were from there and they did reasonably well in their O Levels…

In AMK, Anderson sec is good in terms of discipline and O level results. Followed by AMK sec

North : Woodlands, Admiralty, Yishun, Khatib, Sembawang, AMK

Thanks for feedback on Yishun Town.
In short, YT has better teachers?
          Which explains well-behaved students?
Heard that it was a principal who turned the school around. The entry point of the students is good to begin with. COP for express stream has been high 230s for quite a number of years.

No good schools in the North? 😞

CCK should be Bt. Panjang High(246), AMK/Yio Chu Kang should be Anderson(246) n St. Nick.(253). Woodlands should be Riverside sec.(230)

I am a clueless mum (who live in the North Zone area) with a boy taking PSLE this year. I did not do any planning for him. He decide himself he would like to try out NUS High DSA, and he will be joining the selection camp this saturday. In the event he do not pass round 2, we would be looking for a school in North Zone.

The teacher recommended Yishun Town for student result around 230. If able to acheive above 245 Anderson and St. Nick are viable option.

I am doing last minute research on this topic, and look like all the schools mentioned so far are the ones commonly recommended good school in the North Zone.

I have another younger son who will be taking his PSLE in 2015, hopefully we will be better at this the next time.

St Nicks is an all-girl’s school.

Oops my mistake ... I was thinking about SJI (in Newton), not Saint Nick (all girl school) Although SJI cannot truelly be considered to be in the North...

SJI’s holding school will be in Bishan (where the ITE College was) for the next 2 years, 2014-2015.

Actually if willing to travel to newton, then schools along the mrt line becomes an option, right? There's xinmin, maris stella, chs for example... If above 250 can look at ip schools as well...
