Yeah, but sleeveless not nice & proper for uniform, right ?
Sleeveless for PE attire ok lah but for uniform .... I dunno ?? -

Aiyo Apek, obviously you have not noticed SCGS girls enough.Yeah, why must the school come out with a sleeveless uniform ?
Don't the girls feel uncomfortable ?
If you notice, hardly SCGS girls are plump or round, definitely the minority. So I am not sure if it is sleeveless that makes them self-conscious so all stay slim slim or only slim slim girls join that school so it deters the less-than-slim ones to join or before joining to ensure slim enough.
So net net it is win-win for SCGS.
Girls only feel uncomfortable during puberty if they develop armpit hairs, otherwise actually wearing sleeveless is apt for our kind of weather, but the design must be smart-looking in order not to appear too casual. So far I find the uniform is pretty smart looking especially most of the girls I have seen so far are SLIM and sporty. -

No lah, also got fat ones lah. But it is true the slim ones look better. They look good in anything.

A few school rules I like:
1. Uniform cannot have stains (teach girls to eat properly and careful how they sit)
2. No armpit hair should be shown (have you ever seen a... err hairy armpit SCGS girl?) This social behavior is important, I feel...
However, I feel that the perspiration does stain the uniform around the armpit, so the balero works well for the prefects. Maybe they should have the same for everyone, but prefects' a slightly different shade or something... just thinking about it... -

She explain that if the hole is much bigger than the arm, then they must guard their modesty against any unwanted exposure. That is why she said sleeveless uniform is not practical. But I guess if the school allows jacket to be worn over, then it is okay lah. Then, why don't the school makes jacket part of the uniform to standardize it so it looks more monolithic ? -

I tailor-made all the girls' uniforms to ensure the armpit holes are the right size. I think it is worth it, since it is a dress, and each tailor made dress costs $25. The ones you buy off the shelf cost $14. I guess spending $11 is worth it, since you get to see the girls looking good everyday.

This year FLL there are two champion teams. One is RVHS and the other is SCGS, both teams would be representing singapore in the upcoming world FLL in Atlanta on April.

Since the circumference of everyone's arm is different, looks like most parents in SCGS gotta tailor-made ...

But what was the reason that the early adopters/management in SGCS, came out with the idea of sleeveless uniform ? :?
