hi
my elder dd degree is now 350 in both eyes and she started wearing glasses last year only. It has increased by 150 in a year. I am considering whether to start her on atropine now though doc at snec said to wait for another half year to assess as she is still young. My gal is K2 this year.
Wonder if I should insist, may I know for parents whom start your child on atropine,
1) at what age did your child start?
2) any discomfort i read abt the sensitivity to sun
3) does it really control myopia progression? -
Hi
My 9 year old son is on orthok lens and I just switched his optician from Point Optic to Stan Isaac. Stan isaac insisted that I have to drip eyedrop to his eyes before put on and after removal of the lens.
I don’t feel comfortable as I feel using eyedrop for long term may not be good for his eyes. I talked to Dr. Stan Isaac, he said in this case I can skip eyedrop after removal of the lens but eyedrop before put on the lens is a must and explained the reason… something like it will lubricate the lens and allow movement at night.
I am just more concern on the daily usage of eyedrop for long term.
Any sharing from orthok lens users?
Thanks! -
Hi
May I know why did you switch from Pt Optic to St Issac?
My DD is told by SHS to have her eyes checked so considering Ortho K as she doesn't want to wear any specs and I'm not comfortable with using invasive medication on her eyes.
Thanks in advance for sharing :salute: -
stop letting the kids play with iPads all day long, invest some time in doing outdoor activities running or soccer that will let the eyes rest and focus long distance…and load up on vitamin A carrots milk vitamin D for good absorption as well as fish oil! to improve good eyesight. billberry pills are a good investment as well

Just joined this forum. My husband asked me to send my kids (6 yr old girl and 4 year old boy) to see a eye specialist to get their eyes examined. Was recommended to see this Specialist at this new clinic at Suntec City. Thankfully, the Dr was very patient with my kids, and took his time to explain to me all I had to know about the condition of my children’s eyesight (unfortunately they inherited their father’s poor eyesight). The great thing is that they are part of a Optical centre and I had my kids glasses made there and the kids are occupied as there is a nice kids area for them to play. I am thankful that my husband forced me to send my kids to the Dr as the problem in my daughters eyes were found out before she turns 7 next year (apparently it is not easy to correct eyesight problems after 7). I do strongly suggest parents to bring their young ones to see a eye specialist young as I thought my kids did not have any problems with their eyesight.

Hi,
My 5 yr old boy has recently started to blink all the time. When asked, he says there is no discomfort but he just can’t help it. Not sure if it is a issue to raise concern or it is a newly developed bad habit?
Any parents experienced that too? -

my 11yr old did it on and off. his first episode was in Primary 2. then last year, then this year on and off. haiz. i think he usually did it when he stares at handheld gadgets or computer for too long and his eyes dry. my husband will video his actions and let him see as son didn't know that he actually blinked too much.Hi,

recently, my 7yr old also has this strange action of widening his eye. after repeated nagging, i dont see it nowadays. think it is due to prolong reading.
both wear specs..sigh..... -

Ask him to take sufficient eye break and monitor closely.
