e.g. for year 2012 phase 2C, Kong Hwa has 41 vacancies where there were 77 applicants. Does MOE or the school has the % split between SC and PR for the 77 applicants? Thanks in advance.

All 42 (not 41 as you stated) vacancies was taken by SC as there was ballot for SC <1km. There was unlikely to have any PR among the 77 applicants.

This is very true.. Last year when I was registering under phase 2C, the admin staff actually advised non SC not to waste their chance as they will not have any chance for phase 2C balloting. So i believed all 77 were SC applicants.

Hi All - I just wanted to share that there some schools may be using different cut off points when posting PSLE results on their website so always good to check back on the school’s website. I noticed for example that the Haig Girls’ website indicates a percentage of girls eligible for Express Stream or Normal Academic. I called the school and they confirmed they use a cut off point of 188 for their statistics on their website.


CHIJ Katong indicate on their website % of students eligible for Express Stream (without Normal Academic) & therefore use a cut off point of 200. I also called the school to confirm this. I know this may seem very obvious to those experienced parents but I thought it was worth sharing as I saw in an earlier thread these 2 figures being compared against each other , but actually the basis for their figures is slightly different.

I looked the school web site again after seeing your post.
Yes, CHIJ Katong is using
\"% eligible for the Express Stream (w/o Exp/N(A))\",
On the other hand, Haig Girls is
\" eligible for the Express Course (with Exp/N(A))\".

I do not understand there is any Express course with Normal??

For example, Ngee Ann shows only \"Eligibility for Express\".
Anybody knows this is only Express or including Normal?

I think the cut off point of 188 and 200 is quite big different to consider.

Please help me to make a right decision!!

Hanahana I am in the same boat I think Ngee Ann is using 200 , but to sure you can call the school to re confirm. Oh and please share with all of us


I have asked Haig Girls if they can provide the figure for % eligible for Express Stream only... Heheh will update if they respond.
