I do see some Temasek pri kids and the school bus in the neighbourhood. I prob stay around the same area as you going by the schools close to you. If I were you, I'd observe the registration numbers and if poi Ching no need ballot for sc 1km, then can consider changing schools. St Hilda's too risky. If you wanted Junyuan, you wouldn't have applied for Temasek in the first place yah?I have a confirmed place at Temasek and was wondering if i should try for a school at Tampines in phase 2c as we stayed here.
Actually it's not that far to travel to Temasek ( 20 min bus) just thought if walking distance nicer.
Any safe bet? Or better school?
We stay 1km to st hilda, poi ching and junyuan and 1-2km for the rest. -

Even if there are no earlier phases like 2A or 2B, you will still have to ballot for a place in 2C or its equivalent as long as demand outstrips supply.Anyone knows the balloting breakdown for pei hwa Presbyterian?
Although i have registered my gal in nan hua under phase 2a2 myself,
I personally think they should do away with phase 2b,especially the PV and grass root part and either cap the quota or do away with phase 2a1 and 2a2.
The long distance travel is just too tiring for the kids .
I would love to put my gal in pei hwa as the distance is just so convenient.
I am staying within 1 km ( in fact 200m) from phpps but the balloting history for the past two years has included those within 1 km under phase 2c. This is just so ridiculous I feel not being able to get such a nearby school all because the vacancies are mostly filled up much earlier.
:stupid:
Because you have the privilege of phase 2A in another shool, at least your DD has a confirmed place. Ridiculous? Think of the many parents who spend their time doing PV just to get a chance at 2B.
Did you try to apply for PV in PH? -
Yes you are right! Think my only chance is most probably Poi ching, if not i will stay put.
Will you take the risk if say 90% chance?
How will we get to know real update?merkon:

If school A need ballotg at p2c, there will be no vacancy at p2cs. As such, you should call them to put on wl after p2c. It will be up to the school to adopt waitijg list queue system.some schoolsIgive priory to parents who did pv, some to those fail in ballot for p2c. Or even based on distance and reasons or special skills or academic reasons.kitab:
if i do not register at sch A which is within 1k but confirm need ballotting, can i still put my child on waitlist with sch A? when shd i wl her... at end of 2c? or end of 2cs?
anyone pls?
cos my girl now in school B, but our first choice is sch A. can i wait list my girl in school A and when should i call the sch to put her on wl?
Whichever it is,just call them and kick start the transfer wl process.
Good luck! -
Question. When will the "schools requiring ballot" list be updated at MOE website for 2B? Will it specify distance criteria?

Yes, watch it here http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting/ when it's out. The balloting for what distance will also be specified. -

Yes, historically Pei Hwa needs balloting under Phase 2C for < 1km, but the probably of getting in is relatively high (i.e. the excess demand over supply is not high). If you are willing to take the risk, I will propose you monitor and apply for Phase 2C in Pei Hwa - the 6 years of travelling is going to be very tiring for your child.Anyone knows the balloting breakdown for pei hwa Presbyterian?
