You should be worrying about The Minton.arielle08:
I m looking at plmgs under phase 2C. I m SC and within 1 km. I hope the trend follows the previous years whereby balloting only for 1-2km if there's any.
But I m worry abt the new condos that are flooding the area. Anyone knows whats the TOP for Bartley Residence? This development is the larger near PLMGS.
That is also a hugh development opposite PLMGS.
Me worse, I am a SC 1-2KM away.
Confirm need to ballot. Dunno what is my chance.
I just did a research on The Minton. Its TOP is 2013, so those who bought this property can actually enrol their DDs in PLMGS in 2010 for their kids who is in P1 in 2011. Cos the MOE guidleine indicate that as long as the TOP is within 2 years after the kids enrolled in P1, parents can use the address for registration.
I hope I did not interprete the guideline wrongly.
So, we have to assume to some degree the prior year application number has already taken this group of kids into consideration.
Hi Carol,
I think they havent TOP leh.
I pass by them every week, currently it looks like its about 75% completed. All the blocks are build, but the individual units look raw. The facilities also not done yet.
http://www.newpropertylaunch.sg/minton/
The information shows:-
Expected TOP
30 June 2014
Legal Completion
31 Dec 2017
So which year should we look at for registration purpose? Any idea? :scratchhead:
It has 1145 units. -
arielle08:
Neither. You should be looking for the contracted TOP date in the sales and purchase agreement. This is the date TOP must be obtained or else the developer has to start paying daily damages for delay. The information shows:-

30 June 2014
Legal Completion
31 Dec 2017

Just checked MOE website. Withdraw has to be done online too. both parents must login to P1-IS to withdraw. You will see the message \"Your registration has been successfully withdrawn\" on the acknowledgement slip.Dear all,
DD will be registered under Phase 2C.
I would like to check do you have any idea how to withdraw if we register online? Do we need to go down to the school we registered previously via online to withdraw or we can withdraw online also?
Thanks for your advise -

Can withdraw online on the 3rd day? As the online registration closed one day earlier.

Ngee Ann is getting super sizzling hot this year.A very well-spent
40 hours for\t
parent volunteer
Source: Yesterday article in Straits Times
MADAM Silvia Ho could
have registered her son
Jayden at the traditionally
more popular Tao Nan
School. Instead, she opted
For Ngee Ann Primary School
because she felt it would be a
better fit for her
six-year-old.
\"I felt the environment
and school culture at Ngee
Ann was better for my child
as there was a mix of pupils,\"
said the 36-year-old, whose
husband is a civil servant.
Her family lives in a
Marine Parade condominium
less than 1km away from
both schools.
After visiting Ngee Ann
last year and getting
feedback from friends with
children studying there, she
signed up as a parent
volunteer. She spent 40
hours helping in the school
library. \"It's a good thing I
could afford the time to
volunteer because I'm a
housewife,\" she said.
\"It was a good chance for
me to know the school. I saw
that the kids were not
'hot-housed' and the
school encourages
academically stronger pupils
to help the weaker ones'. , also
didn't want to go through the
whole balloting experience.\"
She was rewarded
yesterday with a place for her
son under Phase 28, the
latest round of Primary 1
registration just ended. The
school, which had 59 spots
for this phase, received just
29 applications, so no ballot
was required.
Tao Nan, a Special
Assistance Plan school with a
focus on Chinese, had 66
hopefuls vying for 41 places
under this phase, which is for
children of school volunteers,
active community leaders,
and those with church or
clan associations.
For those of you who caught On the Red Dot show yesterday, lots of air time was given to Ngee Ann Primary. :rahrah: :boogie:
Sure confirmed ballot for Phase 2C..I wouldnt be surprised if those with 1km also kena ballot. :nailbite: -

Just thinking aloud here. Looking at the P2B Schools Conducting Balloting, I’ve noticed the following comments for the following schools,
"The school has places for only SC children residing within 1km of the school. No balloting will be conducted."
The schools being, ACSJ (47/73), ACSP (24/31), Hong Wen (51/72), Kong Hwa (41/46), MGSP (40/57), SCGSP (22/23). ie. Name of school (2B vacancies/No. of children registered 2B).
Apart from Kong Hwa and SCGSP, the number of children registered for the schools mentioned far outnumbers the number of 2B vacancies. I find it interesting that the exact number accepted equals the exact number of SC within 1km. I’m guessing that this is only possible if the applicant (SC/PR) has the exact status of the registration numbers (including breakdown of SC, PR, Distance information) close to the closing of 2B on 23 Jul late afternoon and hence registers accordingly.
Somehow, the numbers seem too "exact" imho. Perhaps I’m missing something here.
Just curious. Tks.
