It's just good planning and management by the schools. Kudos to them.I was also wondering aloud to my hubby just this morning.
I asked him how is it that there are 41 places and 46 registered for kh... and all sc gets in.... umean so coincidental.... 41 sc and 5 pr applied? that's why wanted to find out the breakdown but no one was able to help. same for the other schools... i also wondered. hope someone can enlighten us. -
Hi,
How do I put my kid on waitlist? Do I have to do it immediately after 2c ends? or can I do it now?
Tks -

Not really la... some parents also looking at the kids' interests and the CCA offered at both school coz its super near each other..CNS:
Whole heartedly agree with her. Ngee Ann seems to provide more support for the children, based on feedback that i received.
I am sure that a lot of the parents aiming for Tao Nan under phase 2C will agree with you.
Anyway school good or not, teachers good or not... not 100%, academically mayb 50%, kids own strength and determination 30%, parents support 20%..
Want holistic and more morals and values? Parents 50%! -

Just thinking aloud here. Looking at the P2B Schools Conducting Balloting, I've noticed the following comments for the following schools,
\"The school has places for only SC children residing within 1km of the school. No balloting will be conducted.\"
The schools being, ACSJ (47/73), ACSP (24/31), Hong Wen (51/72), Kong Hwa (41/46), MGSP (40/57), SCGSP (22/23). ie. Name of school (2B vacancies/No. of children registered 2B).
Apart from Kong Hwa and SCGSP, the number of children registered for the schools mentioned far outnumbers the number of 2B vacancies. I find it interesting that the exact number accepted equals the exact number of SC within 1km. I'm guessing that this is only possible if the applicant (SC/PR) has the exact status of the registration numbers (including breakdown of SC, PR, Distance information) close to the closing of 2B on 23 Jul late afternoon and hence registers accordingly.
Somehow, the numbers seem too \"exact\" imho. Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Just curious. Tks.
My own speculation is this. A directive may have been given by MOE with the intention to minimize balloting. So these schools were allowed to take in a few more students, but only SC ones, than the vacancies they have. Could be an initiative to appease the ground, amidst the uproar of protests and people calling for tweaks to a system many think have gone wrong... -
Hmm. Exact filling of quotas smacks of "first come first served". I hope nobody was turned way on this pretext, as it is against the rules.

Anyone knows what time balloting at Ai Tong is ?.

But how exactly does a school plan for something like this? Limiting the number of PVs - yes. That works. But there are also clan and church and grassroots affiliations. You can't plan for those. I kinda have to agree with the person who said that MOE may be trying to minimise balloting, so as not to cause alarm and give the impression that the numbers are not out of control. I think in some cases, they must have let in more than the stipulated number of spaces available. Not that I particularly have any problems with that. But just saying.
It's just good planning and management by the schools. Kudos to them.kitab:

Given Singaporean parents' aggressiveness when it comes to their kids, I highly doubt anyone would take it lying down. The school CANNOT turn eligible parents away. Any eligible parent who got turned away would have grounds for legitimate complaint. It is probably that some parents withdrew or decided to register somewhere else once they realized got to ballot. So at the end of the day, how big is your risk appetite. This year's parents seem to be quite adept at this strategizing. Maybe learned from previous years. -

Yes, so how many more can a school let in, 2,3,4? :?
