Your child is due in 2010? Like that most likely you may have missed the PV closing date registration where normally would be on May 08 or Jun 08. Which Pri Sch did you try?

Maybe straight away give a call to the Principal!

Nan Hua primary rejected my application for their parent volunteer work. I am trying to apply for my son P1 for Year 2011. So early they rejected me. Any association that I can join in order to get into phase 2B? I am staying within 1 km but I think I still need to ballot for phase 2C right?

What should I do now?

Perhaps you should check past history trend whether Nan Hua cut off balloting at what distance in Phase 2C.

Since your child intake is 2011, therefore maybe the closing date to register PV is on May/Jun 2010.

Any clan or membership associated to this school?

If I am not wrong, I think under balloting for Phase 2c in 2008 was 341% of total application applied. In the end, I guess I just have to try my luck in the Phase 2C balloting later.

If ur son is P1 in 2011, meaning he has to register in 2010? Then it’s just the right time to apply for PV work, not too early. I did PV work from Nov06 for registration in 2008.

Nanhua is known for having very strict criterion for choosing PVs. Me myself was rejected too. My husband’s colleague was also rejected after various appeals and even submitted some proposal. Hence dont feel too sad. And yes u do need to ballot under Phase 2C even if u stay <1km, based on past years trend. The other way to get into phase 2B is through grassroot leaders route, but I not very familiar about that. Maybe u can go to the other thread to check it out?

When shd we register to be a PV with the school?
How? do we just go and speak to the P directly or via email?

For registration in july 2010, u can start applying as a PV now. For my case, I started my PV work in Nov 2006 for registration in 2008. But some schools do not open as early for registration. Whatever the case, you must be registered latest by June 2009.


You can call the school to enquire first. Some has a form to fill in, and you can ask them to mail it to you. Some require you to write in (via letter). If you choose a popular school, it’s likely that they will screen through your particulars first. Some schools will even conduct interviews.
