Raffles Girls' Primary
-
My 2nd DD was accepted in phase 2A2, as my 1st DD graduated from RGPS last year. My understanding is that as long if the girl is not from GEP classes, they are relatively quite relaxed. Most of the home works are completed in school, and they have quite alot of assignments.
I am interested to find out more about the Parents group if there’s any. -

It's true, my DD is P5 this year. I was told there will be a big jump on their homework from P4 to P5; but until now, i have not seen more works added this year. My girl is quite relax, it is almost the same as her P4.My 2nd DD was accepted in phase 2A2, as my 1st DD graduated from RGPS last year. 1 student from 5E scored full marks for Maths in SA1.... :udawoman:ctct61t:
It's a long time we have not updated this post already...
All girls finished the SA1 test. My DD told me the math was quite difficult...Have your DD bring records back to home today?
Anyway, it's leisure time for all girls. My DD borrow a bag of story books from library yesterday. More programs will come soon.
Amazing!!!
To be correct, 2 student from 5E scored full for Maths in SA1 -

I see that so far all the p2b from rgps have got in.
the applicants are much lower than the vacancies allocated this year.. could it be the moving to mt sinai and most parents feel that it's inconvenience?
asking cos i'm considering to try my luck for pv in rgps. seems from the past years stats http://www.rgps.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=52943 that the no of applicants are just nice.. -
I believe that the school takes in lesser Pvs for last year.

Oic.. hopefully I will stand a chance when it's my turn as I'm staying beyond 2km. :xedfingers: -
I believe >2km has very slim chance. 58 vacancies left for phase 2C.

2014 P1 admission parents –I almost give up 2A chance too as stayin too far and in fact m under 2b too, grassroot..really hope imake the right choice afterall. Oso v worried abt the stress and competitiveness in rgps. But learning that it is not as hot and popular as it waa oso make me feel a little better, maybe becos it is reali due to no affiliation or so.
Any idea abt its PVG?
parents who wish to help out on the initial first 3 days after P1 Term 1 start -
can fill up a form, on P1 Orientation day itself (ie. 2 Jan 2014) - to indicate your interest, to help out.
however, if too many parents are so excited to sign up, then school will ballot.
what kind of duties will you be helping out, on the initial first 3 days ?

note:-
PVG won’t assign parent to help out in that particular class your daughter is in.
example:-
say, your daughter has been assigned to P 1A class.
PVG will assign you to help out in any class , except P 1A.
(they don't want you to keep focusing attention on your daughter only)
ie. they will assign you to help out any class, say, from class P 1B to P 1I
(Total : Nine P1 classes, 270 intake)
btw, on Orientation day itself:-
the Chinese dance team will be presenting, to P1 parents seated in the hall, while their girls are getting to know their form teachers and classmates, inside their respective classroom. The pupils in the Chinese dance team CCA have been rehearsing hard, practising hard, for this dance presentation item.
for P1, CCA is not compulsory.
but is good to expose your child early, so that if the child shows no interest after trying out, she can drop and then change to another CCA. This way, by the time she reach P3, she is more definite of which CCA she prefer.
list of P1 CCA (not compulsory):-

P1 parents,
may go through P1 handbook - familiarize yourself with the school.
