My son is crazy about Maths and Science is his favourite subject after Maths. He do not need tuition for these 2 subjects. He is the one who wanted to attempt NUS High DSA.MommyAnt:
My son Maths n Science score is consistent above 85. But he is weak in Chinese (in the range of 60). Can anyone advise if that will become a problem if he manage to pass round 2 n get a place at NUS High? Thank you.
Well, scores only tell how well he did for exams...it's difficult to say if he'll have any problem in the future.
You may want to examine these qns...perhaps you can find your answers...
Is your son very in grasping math and science concepts?
Is he curious/inquisitive over anything math and science?
Does he feel challenged by mind boggling puzzles?
Does he need tuition in these subjects?
Does he read widely in these subjects? -

Yesterday was the DSA camp, can anyone share the experience ? How it was conducted ? I just saw some students assembled at the concourse only. Thanks.

DS only told me Physic was okay, bio and chemistry were difficult, his science science is not very good, for the 1st round selection test he said he can only answer 1 question of science, the rest don't know :yikes:
Hope to hear from others too -

[/quote]DS said, lunch was awful ...hahaha.....
But he enjoyed the Physics experiment.
Anyone knows when will the result be known ? -
DD said 4 stations - chemistry, physics, biology and english.
3 colour groups - blue, red, green and then divide into 12 per group and further divide into subgroup of 6.
English essay - on individual basis, choose 1 out of 2 questions, either how to convince students to stop jaywalking, or if you are given 3 items to put in a time capsule, what would you choose and why.
Chemistry - with iodine on starch
Physics - propeller
Biology - seeds and germination
Group dynamics involved as some kids are more outspoken and quickly take up the easier questions to answer first. Hopefully the teachers are discerning enough. -
I think maybe dsa results will be out in 2 weeks’ time. Under the nus high admission FAQ, it was stated that the letter of offer will be given out during the preview session on 17 aug Saturday.
