MOE called me and advised me to check with PLMGS personally if the last ball drawn was indeed a twin. I called the school and have received a satisfactory reply. On the day of phase 2B balloting, 4PRs went in for balloting. The first ball drawn was a single child. The second ball drawn was a set of twins. The school has to absorb that twins and thus reduce the quantity for Phase 2C by 1. Therefore it explains why the Phase 2B number is 74 and remaining vacancies for Phase 2C number is 71. The admin lady who explained over the phone said that in the case that the first ball being drawn for phase 2B was the twins instead, then they will stop the balloting and conclude the twins as the last 2 children being balloted in. In this case that happened on Phase 2B balloting day for PLMGS, the lucky child PR in phase 2B got in successfully. If that child was not picked, but the set of twins was picked, then that child would not even have the chance to study in the school.

This explaination was clearly explained and I accept the school’s decision.

Here’s the breakdown as at 4pm for PLMGS:
SC <1km = 65
SC 1 - 2km = 9
SC >2km = 2
PR = 11
was there.. and only within 1km sc need to apply..

Expected, as p2b also balloted, and stats shown apps > 7% than 2012. So parents from p2b also participating in p2c.

not really.. phase 2B ballot was for 1-2km.. all wihtin 1km sc got it.. so those balloted out actually no chance at all for 2C
1-2km can become <1km if they able to rent a place <1km, anything is possible...

After the 11am application at PLMGS

SC < 1km - 54
SC 1 - 2 km - 9
SC > 2km - 2
PRs - 11 (not sure of breakdown)

I believe those who stayed within 1km from PLMGS would have applied today. The admin lady who answered the phone at PLMGS advised that if the number of SC for within 1km hit the 71 quota, it is advisable that those SC staying more than 1km or PR to select a school elsewhere as they won't even get the chance to ballot. That means within 1km for SC needs balloting for PLMGS this year 😓

Sembgal u also within 1 km for PL right?
Really hope that all SC within 1km applied today.
If the next 2 days 7 more within 1 km apply, then see u at the ballot hall on 6 aug 😢

Guess it is the pain from being unsuccessful in the volunteer phase, all that time wasted and no guts to try again, cos even lower chance.

:?: Praying for a miracle that can get balloted in if the number of SC <1km will not hit quota of 71. I fall under 1km to 2km. :slapshead:

Will MOE website provides interim updates?
