                      I don't see it as an oxymoron at all.

                      It's like saying 'Safe Travels' is an oxymoron.

                      Once one embarks on travel, one assumes a certain amount of risk.

                      But it does not mean travel cannot be conducted safely.

                      Or that a meritocratic system cannot be tempered with compassion.
