The address on the NRIC will be taken.
To add, if the entire house is rented out (w tenant inside), technically you cannot use that address anymore coz that address now \"belongs\" to the tenant. There was a case where the landlord and the tenant both used the address to apply for a place in the school and the landlord's kid was booted out. Happened long ago.
So, for pple who have multiple properties and thinking of changing addresses midway through the phases to gain distance advantage, they need to ensure the properties are vacated. And the family must then live in the house that was finally used for successful registration. -

Read somewhere if you are using care givers address, it’s considered 1 - 2 km. maybe disadvantage if the school historically need balloting for those within 1 km.

Imami:
On the part in blue, my understanding is that Singaporeans get priority whenever there's a ballot. So it's no longer \"more chances\" but the PRs do not even get a chance to ballot together with the Singaporeans, even at 1-2km...Need some help here.
Am I right to say, there is still some sort of priority involved in this stage? Eg
100 seats. 150 applicants.
Priority given to sc staying within 1km.
If still have vacancies, then priority given to sc staying within 1-2km.
If there are more applicants than vacancies for 1-2km, then ballot, regardless of PR or sc, but sc gets more chances.
Correct?
Have done up a http://littlebluebottle.blogspot.sg/2013/08/tips-on-surviving-phase-2c.html on what I've learnt about Phase 2C.

If your friend is staying with parents, it is ok for her address to be the parents' address. She should not change it to her own house that is currently rented out to someone else.Rata:

Which address does she want to use for the P1 registration? If she wants to use her own house (currently tenanted), she must end the lease and live in that house. Then go to the police post and change her address.
What cut-off date you talking about? Not clear. She needs to change the address within 28 days of moving into the house. If asking about changing in time for a registration phase, then do so at least a day before. Changing at police post is quite instantaneous. Just stick a sticker on your NRIC only.

I am <1km to Ngee Ann Primary and 1-2km to CHIJ Katong. I never do PV as the school admin from Ngee Ann told me that I am very safe, no need to do PV.
However, NAPS is really hot this year… made me so worried and I think I am too late to be PV now…sigh…
Any advice? How is CHIJ Katong? -
Now that the 2013 Registration is almost over, shall we the 2014 bunch have a show of hands on our 1st and 2nd choice of schools for next year’s registration!? Its getting hot in here!!
