Depends on how u ask the question? Yesterday when I called my target school the clerk was only willing to disclose the number of sc applicants, no breakdown. And even then she stress is ball park figure coz school is still processing (and that was at 4.55pm).Any further updates on smps?
I can't figure out why there's a differences in the total applicant told by the sch vs moe website. Is it the sch normally disclose applicants of sc and just omit the pr? -
quixation:

Blue Pearl,
where do you stay ?
if you stay in the east, pls note that there is no school bus from Marymount Convent to the east. I inquired last week, because my friend stay in Bedok, and she considering Marymount. I helped her contact Marymount school bus operator. He said Bedok too far - no school bus go there, to fetch kids to Marymount. But if you stay around Toa Payoh, Bishan, Sin Ming, then ok; got school bus.
compared to Marymount - Cannosa Convent is a smaller school.
Marymount has 8 P1 classes (240 pupils), whereas Cannosa Convent is only half her size, ie. 4 P1 classes (120 pupils).
academic wise :-
you may go Cannosa Convent website, check her psle results.
In terms of Marymount, her CCA are more interesting - because she offer Artistic gym, Rhythmic gym. Canossa Convent don't have gym; her CCAs are limited.
As Canossa is a small school, the students are closely knitted.
The teachers are caring too. Since is a convent (Catholic school), the child can attend Catechism class (optional), to learn some values. Generally, the girls are quiet, well behaved. Some of them do well at psle, move onto CHIJ St Nicholas Secondary, a small handful minority go RGS. Others go Tanjong Katong Girls Secondary, other CHIJ Secondary schools, plus a few other schools in the east.
you may check Canossa Convent PSLE results here, gauge her standard :-

you may compare 2011 Canossa Convent psle, against Marymount Convent's :-

As for Cedar -
is like Canossa, because also 4 P1 classes (120 intake). Is co-ed.
Cedar is hidden inside Wan Tho Avenue, along a stretch of quiet landed property. The nearby HDB flats are Joo Seng area, also a quiet housing estate. Cedar Secondary is beside Cedar primary.
because small school (only 4 classes), perhaps Cedar is low profile.
I could not find Cedar psle on her website.
if you ask me, in terms of size, Marymount is much bigger, hence more vibrant, because more pupils, more activities in school. Then go Marymount. Since Marymount still has vacancies now in 2C, then go Marymount. But if you stay in the east, not advisable, because no school bus, unless you drive her to and fro, everyday. Then how about her CCA days ?
for a start, you may call up Marymount school bus operator, see if got school bus go your house:-

Am surprised that NAP is more popular than Tao Nan this year. No over subscription at Tao Nan till Day 2
To my friends for Day 3 especially to my friends from Tao Nan n Ngee Ann(where there is confirmed ballotting ) all the best.
Pray that you do get into the No 1 n No 2 school in Marine Parade. -
Hi all,
just registered in forum but have been lurking since earlier this year as my dd is going p1 next year.
let me extend my gratitude to the site admin for setting this place up and all the parents who have contributed ceaselessly for the benefit of others (like me).
i registered my dd at smps in p2c online on Monday and have been watching the numbers like a hawk.
all the best to parents going through this phase! -
Anyone has the stats for RGPS? I'm within 1km - SC and withdrawing from NYPS for a seat at RGPS instead. The odds look much better than in NYPS. Please advice.

Hi,
Does anyone have the statistics for Fairfield? From the MOE website, there were 62 applicants. Are they all SC staying within 1 km?
Called Fairfield at 8 am. As of end of day 2, all 62 are SC within 1 km.
