Curtains or Roller Binds for your kids room ?

Yes, they r custom made. I already hv the tracks, so just the blinds alone is abt $280 for a set of 3 pcs of width 600mm (2 pcs) & 900mm (1 pc), ht is 1240mm. I like to custom made so I can choose the design to match the bedrm color theme & also the kids can choose something they like.

I'm using sun-out roller blinds because they are easy to wipe. My maid wipes them on alternate days when she wipes the windows. Just roll down all the way and wipe Simple & fast.


Did not get fabric curtains because my boy likes to hang onto them and swing himself like Tarzan

Previous house we opt for roller blinds because of direct afternoon sun. Hardly clean the roller blinds. Not that dusty since you will be rolling the blinds up & down everyday. At least I don't recall seeing dust particles flying around

Current house using curtains because not as sunny. Usually wash the curtains every 2 to 3 months. Throw into washing machine.

Maintenance wise both relatively easy.

Depends on the curtains material you chose.


The curtain man told us specifically which are the ones suitable for machine wash, which to handwash. Mine didn’t shrink

I installed venetian blinds for all bedrooms but maybe I should have not done so for my kids’ room.


Venetian blinds need more care in raising and lowering (as explained by the installer) and kids often spoil them by pulling on the strings in the wrong way.

Hmm... I also use blinds at home... vertical blinds.


And....I have never clean it lei.... oops... :oops:

What if you have full length windows that look out to the road? Will be it too troublesome to get blinds? I always seem to find blinds very leceh and maid tends to pull very hard leading to lopsided blinds most of the times!
